Are you ready to meditate with Kori?

This is a slightly different meditation.

It's a really cool thing that I do when I go anywhere where I'm nervous or maybe I'm around people I don't know or anywhere in general where I don't feel quite sure of myself.

It's an easy thing that you can do and I thought I would share it with you.

All you need is your thumb and your fingers.

The first thing that you have to do,

Just gently put your first finger and your thumb together.

Press the tips of them together and then really slowly,

So it feels nice,

Just go around in circles.

You can imagine that you're going around in a tiny little circle on the tip of your thumb and the tip of your finger.

I do this because it feels nice and it's also distracting and it makes me think about my body and the sensation of my feelings.

While I'm doing that,

I say to myself,

I am an awesome,

Happy person.

That's what I say on the first finger.

I'm an awesome,

Happy person.

I am an awesome,

Happy person.

And I say it internally so no one around me can hear me.

And then when I've said it a few times,

I start to rub my middle finger on my thumb in tiny little circles.

Once again,

Nice and slow so it feels nice and gentle.

And it just feels like the tips of your soft fingers are rubbing together.

With this finger,

I say to myself,

I'm fun to be around.

And I do my little circles and I repeat in my mind,

I am fun to be around.

And then when I feel ready,

I move to my ring finger and I rub the tip of my ring finger on the end of my thumb,

Just like the other two,

In tiny little circles,

Around and around.

And I say to myself,

I make a really good friend.

I make a really good friend.

And I keep rubbing my finger around and around on the tip of my thumb.

And I repeat it as much as I need to.

And then on my pinky finger,

The last finger,

I say to myself as I'm rubbing the circle,

I'm easy to get along with.

I am easy to get along with.

So the first finger I say,

I'm an awesome,

Happy person.

The second finger I say,

I'm fun to be around.

The third finger I say,

I make a really good friend.

And the last finger I say,

I'm easy to get along with.

You can write them down if you want to so that you can remember.

But the idea is that you're talking to yourself and you're telling yourself something that's true because you probably are awesome and happy most of the time.

You probably are fun to be around,

I bet you.

You probably are a really good friend.

And you're friends with someone.

And you probably are easy to get along with.

I know all of these statements that I make for myself help to build my confidence and they make me feel braver and more comfortable when I'm in public situations or have to meet someone new for the first time.

Or maybe like for you,

It might be the first day of school.

For me,

It might be like a work meeting or something like that.

It doesn't matter how old we are.

Sometimes when we feel uncomfortable,

There's certain little tricks that we can do that make us feel better inside.

So on the outside,

We look totally fine.

We look happy,

Easy to get along with,

Comfortable and confident.

All the things that we want to feel about ourselves.

So go ahead and give it a try.

Good luck with it.

Namaste my little friend.
