You can do this meditation seated with a nice tall spine and feet placed firmly on the ground.
Allowing yourself to feel your feet on the earth about hip distance apart legs and spine beautifully straight your head shining up to the sun closing down your eyes and gently feeling the natural sway of your body noticing how your body naturally moves from side to side and if it feels okay you might like to sway into it just a little bit more adding a nice rhythmic movement noticing your feet placed firmly and flat onto the earth noticing how gravity pulls you down holds you in place grounding you keeping you safe and noticing in your mind's eye and the feeling of your great and mighty roots rooted into the earth spread out and spread down for a long way rooting you to the spot so strong and so grounding nothing can tip you over the roots let you take in all the nutrients that you need from nature and they connect you to all the other trees in your neighborhood a community of trees living and breathing pulsating together as one organism feeling your legs and your torso the trunk of the tree so sturdy and stable always holding you up always giving you strength giving you height giving you height to see to see outwards to see more clearly the tree is so tall so wise and present it doesn't worry about what happened yesterday or what's going to happen tomorrow it just is and silently stays in its place as things calm and go as seasons change the awareness traveling into your branches your arms and chest and face leaves growing upwards to you feel a glimpse of that warm life giving sun shining down over you giving you all the energy you need to go forwards all the vitality you need and branches swaying gently in the breeze the strength of your root and trunk system allows you to sway allows you to be flexible knowing that you can't break or fall but you can move and dance in the wind or whatever weather comes your way you can contain it all the vitality and lusciousness of the green leaves so beautiful swaying so gently and trees are so white they know when to let go of their leaves and they don't give it a second thought they understand that it is part of a process and that nothing stays the same forever just as feelings come and go so do the seasons and it is always time for spring they blossom and bloom once more into life and colour feeling the essence and the quality of the tree in your body noticing how it feels noticing where you feel it your feet firmly on the ground branches swaying back and forth lungs breathing in and out giving and receiving in a reciprocal rhythm with all life on earth remembering that the essence of this tree lives inside you it is always there and you can draw wisdom and strength from your tree at any time that you need and when you are ready perhaps placing your hands somewhere on your body taking a deep breath letting go and in your own time gently blinking open your eyes and arising from your meditation
