Beginnings Loving Kindness Practice.
In this practice,
We will repeat some phrases in a loving-kindness style.
It's about generating that loving-kindness for yourself in the context of beginnings and the different practices that we've done this week.
So if you bring yourself to a comfortable seated position.
And you might want to.
Put your hand or hands over your heart.
Or somewhere else that feels supportive.
And just start by just feeling the connection with your body and the chair.
Feeling their support.
The chat gives you.
And your feet on the floor.
And below that,
The earth beneath.
Feeling that sense of grounding.
With this solid structure beneath you.
And just switching your attention to your breath.
OK,
We're going to repeat the first phrase.
You can do this either internally or out loud.
May I give myself time to allow new ideas to formulate.
May I give myself time to allow new ideas to formulate.
Just sitting with that phrase for a few moments.
This might be about getting up early to give yourself some space.
Or it might be about creating some quiet time in the day or before bed.
May I give myself time to allow new ideas to formulate.
We're often so busy and reactive throughout the day that the day just carries on with itself and before you know it,
It's bedtime.
So this is about taking time out for you.
So the next phrase,
May I have courage to explore new beginnings.
May I have courage to explore new beginnings.
Just sitting with that a little while.
So just connecting with this phrase.
May I have courage to explore new beginnings.
This might be taking the first step.
Or perhaps writing down a series of steps.
So you can make it a bit more tangible.
Then you can start to really see what that might look like,
Those beginnings.
Okay and the final one may i have self-compassion needed for trying new things May I have self-compassion needed for trying new things.
So this might be about navigating any failure,
Perceived failure.
It might be about letting go of judgements of yourself.
Or of labels.
And just bringing in that real kindness.
May i have self-compassion needed for trying new things So if we start to give ourselves this time,
Have the courage and self-compassion.
We can really start to have that strength to make these changes.
We can redefine ourselves and not be.
Limited by these labels that we give ourselves.
Okay,
So just as we're coming to the end of the practice,
Just bringing your attention to your breath once more,
Perhaps letting go of your hand or hands.
Feeling the connection with the chair again.
The floor underneath you And gently opening your eyes.
And again,
Perhaps writing down any insights,
Any things that you might like to try,
Just giving yourself that time or scheduling some time in later so you can.
Welcome.
