Simple gratitude practice.
So for this,
We're going to go through person,
Place and thing.
And you can do this at any point in the day.
But it's particularly useful if we are struggling with something because it's a way of training our brain to bring in that positive energy as well,
Which can actually help us with what we're dealing with.
Yourself into a supportive position.
This might be lying down or sitting in a cosy chair.
Bringing your eyes to a close.
And we're just going to start with person.
So getting a sense of a person who brings you happiness,
Maybe kindness,
Support.
If you are dealing with something at the moment,
Maybe choosing somebody who you find to be supportive.
Bringing that person to mind.
The details.
How this person makes you feel.
You might want to visualise them sitting next to you.
And really feeling how you feel when you're in their company.
Perhaps you want to imagine them giving you a hug.
So just getting a sense of that person and why you feel grateful for this person in your life.
And really feeling that in your body.
Okay!
Letting go of that,
Going to move on to a place.
So,
This could be a favorite place or a kind of solace where you'd like to escape to.
Just imagining yourself in that place.
Who you're with,
Or perhaps you're alone.
What is it about this place that's special to you?
Really absorbing that into your body,
That sense of gratitude.
Really allowing it to flood your body with that positive energy and emotion.
Okay,
Letting go of that and let's move on to thing.
So it could be anything whatsoever,
Something that brings you joy,
Something that you find useful,
Something that enables you to do something or feel a certain way.
Just pick one.
Bringing the details to mind.
Why you feel grateful for this thing.
Perhaps it makes you want to smile.
And again allowing those positive feelings to radiate through your body.
Okay!
This is a quick fix because you can just bring it into any part of your day.
And I appreciate it might be tricky if you are dealing with something,
But just try it.
You never know it might help and just bring in some more positivity that will help you deal with whatever you're struggling with.
So taking this sense of gratitude into the rest of your day and perhaps setting that intention to notice other things throughout the day that you're grateful for.
Okay,
Gently opening your eyes.
Well done.
