This meditation has been created for the pregnancy and infant loss community.

Having experienced miscarriage myself,

My heart aches for you in a familiar way.

My hope is that this meditation is a comforting guide to support you in the ways I needed when it was me,

So that you can find some peace on the other side of grief.

For anyone struggling with life after a great loss,

This one's for you.

Welcome to Coached by Niki Dyer.

Let's begin by letting your body find a comfortable position.

Whether you're sitting or lying down,

Whatever feels right is right.

Take a deep inhale through the nose,

Holding for a brief pause,

And exhale it all out through the mouth.

Let's do that one more time,

With a big breath in through the nose,

And exhale it out,

Letting your breath find its natural rhythm now.

As your body breathes for you,

And take one hand as you gently place it over your heart,

As an act of self-soothing and self-compassion,

And just let it sit there through each rise and fall,

Allowing your feelings to be here too.

Self-soothing is an essential part of the healing process,

And if you find that emotions are already washing over you,

See if you can focus on the sound of my voice,

And breathe easily with me,

Taking gentle breaths in,

Using your breath as an anchor,

And a reminder that you are not alone,

So just take a minute to be here with me,

And to let me be there for you.

Be gentle with yourself,

You're processing a lot emotionally and physically,

And it takes time to heal from a broken heart,

And I know it's really hard to say goodbye to someone you've never met.

I'm not going to let you beat yourself up over something you had no control over,

You did nothing wrong,

Not a thing.

Today I want to take a moment to acknowledge the silent battles you are fighting,

The moments you had to humble yourself,

Wipe your own tears,

And pull yourself back up.

Life has thrown you some unexpected challenges,

And here you are,

Facing them.

Sometimes it's about the courage it takes to keep going,

Even when you can't see the road in front of you,

You have incredible strength.

I know this may seem like the hardest thing to believe right now,

But your heart won't feel this heavy forever,

I promise,

And someday the pain won't feel so overbearing,

It will always be there,

But it softens with time,

So just for now,

Take a deep breath,

And feel it all,

Don't swallow it down or hold it back,

Let your emotions come up and out so they can be recognized.

As real,

Tears are a big part of the healing process for your physical body,

And you are healing.

There will come a day when you make it to the other side of your grief,

Where you smile again and it's honest,

When you realize it didn't break you,

To laugh until you cry and it doesn't hurt,

To learn how to love yourself again,

And to find something worth waking up for.

It is the heart that has known great loss,

That knows great love,

You don't have to go through this time of your life alone,

Everything in you will be telling you to isolate,

To not burden anyone else with your problems,

But try your best to fight against that feeling,

Reach out to loved ones,

Friends,

Family,

Anyone you trust,

Ask them for help,

Lean in,

And accept the love that they pour into you,

I know you are hurting,

Hurting with pain so deep,

A pain so many won't be able to understand,

I know you didn't ask for this,

I know you are missing your baby with every part of your soul,

I wish I could make it different for you,

But I want you to know,

That even though it may feel it at times,

There is a collective of mothers who weep beside you,

Who understand,

That just because it's common,

Doesn't mean it hurts any less,

Take a deep breath in,

And let it all out,

I wish you peace,

I wish you comfort,

I wish you healing,

My heart is with you today and always,

Because we are connected now,

You and me,

Take your time,

But when you're ready,

Open your eyes and come back to the room around you.
