Have you ever stopped to notice that so much of this life resembles the pages of a book?
Welcome to Coached by Nikki Dyer.
We begin this practice here together by gently closing your eyes,
Taking the necessary time to find a comfortable position,
And begin to notice the natural rhythm of your breath without trying to change it.
As you inhale slowly and deeply through the nose,
Feel the way your belly expands as you hold,
Feeling the release as you exhale slowly through the mouth,
Drawing in positive energy as you breathe deeply,
Feeling the stillness when you pause,
And release as your muscles relax.
Noticing that empty space that exists only between the exhale and the inhale,
Just before your breath returns to a natural rhythm of its own.
We turn your mind and thoughts inward,
As you begin to imagine yourself holding a new book in your hands,
Its cover smooth,
Each page is crisp,
And as you begin to open it and turn to the very first page,
There is a familiar feeling of anticipation.
Yet there is familiarity in these first pages,
Because you have been here many times before.
That pause at the beginning,
Before you begin something new,
A fleeting moment in time where almost everything ahead is unknown.
All the great works of literature are intricately woven and full of details and experiences.
The richness of its narrative,
Filled with unexpected twists and profound insights,
Keep you yearning so much so that you find yourself eagerly turning each page,
Making every moment feel vivid and alive.
Driven by a hunger to uncover what happens next,
Taking a deep breath in here,
As you begin to visualize the book,
Filled with so many pages resting in your hands.
Every page holds so much potential,
Because it's where the fate of the story becomes decided,
And the details begin to fill all around it.
The chapters are where growth,
Character development,
And transformation happen,
As you continue to gently breathe in and out.
I want you to picture yourself turning the pages in your own story,
As you move through the book of your life,
Allowing each breath to fill you with courage,
An unwavering determination to keep going,
To keep exploring,
To keep turning the page.
Have you ever stopped to notice that so much of this life resembles the pages of a book?
After this practice comes to a close,
I want you to picture yourself turning the pages in your own story,
As you move confidently through the book of your life,
Allowing every breath you take to fill you with courage and determination,
To let the story evolve all on its own,
To keep the details flowing,
To keep exploring as the story develops,
To keep turning the page,
Taking a final moment here to connect with that main character inside.
As you slowly bring awareness to your surroundings,
Taking a final deep breath in,
And exhale,
Then when you feel ready,
Open your eyes.
I always love to encourage journaling after a practice,
So I hope you take the time after this one to fill a page or two,
To write down your experiences as they are happening,
And to connect with that story within.
