Hi,
Welcome to this meditation led by Claudia Silas,
Yoga,
Meditation and dance facilitator.
We so often seek or crave intimacy,
Touch,
Connection from another.
But today I'm inviting you to offer this to yourself,
Being deeply intimate with yourself in the moment.
Find a comfortable place to rest.
Now you may want to spend a few moments just moving around,
So it could be a few neck or shoulder rolls,
Maybe some spinal movements,
Hip movements or any other part of the body that is calling for a little bit of space and openness so that you can actually sit and rest with more ease.
To begin with,
I want you to bring your hands together.
And begin to rub them.
Building heat,
Building speed.
Bringing more warmth into the hands.
As we're going to be using the hands to nourish the body and hold the body in a moment.
Keep building speed,
Keep building heat.
There may be a little bit of aching or tension that starts to build in the arms.
Keep going.
And then just softly bringing the hands onto the stomach.
Lower belly.
Allow the breath to shift downwards into the hands,
Not with force.
If you feel like you're straining or pushing the breath into the hands,
Ease off.
They're just there as guidance,
Support.
To hold.
For some of us,
The summit can be a vulnerable area.
There may be negative stories or associations with the stomach.
I really feel the stomach,
Hold the stomach.
And all of the functioning that a house is.
And allow that breath to move down into the hands.
Inflating the belly,
So we're working with a deeper belly breath.
And has the capacity to really bring a sense of relaxation and calm.
Feel the body,
Feel the breath.
Gradually.
Just starting to bring the hands over the heart.
Notice it's pulsing.
It's rhythm.
It's a very strong emotional and energetic centre.
Feel the heart,
Hold the heart.
Let yourself be held.
And felt with your own hands.
Resting in the heart space with awareness and touch.
Gradually starting to move the hands up over the eyes.
Let the head bow down slightly so that you feel you're actually holding the head in the hands with the eyes covered in darkness.
So we're really dropping back in.
With awareness.
In this darkness,
Allowing the head to be supported and held here.
We spend a lot of time up in our heads,
As the quote goes.
Busy mind.
Lots to think of,
Plan,
Do.
So just allowing this space to be held and to rest into the hands here.
Resting in that darkness.
Resting in that spaciousness.
What does it feel like to be held?
Finally now,
Bringing the hands across the body to hug yourself.
You may want to keep the head dropped,
You may even want to start gathering the knees in and give yourself a squeeze around the knees so you're creating a little cave for yourself.
There's no right or wrong,
Just see what happens.
See how the body wants to move and follow.
Rest in this cave of love.
Of intimacy,
Of self-awareness.
Hold yourself.
If emotions start to flood the system,
Allow them to.
Maybe feel tender.
Maybe there's tears.
Laughter.
Grief,
Sorrow.
Confusion.
There is no right or wrong way to feel.
Whatever you feel,
Just allow it to be felt.
It's also okay if you don't have any emotional response.
Us that it's enough to just be here now with yourself in this capacity.
This rare capacity of self-intimacy,
Self-nourishment.
Feel free to stay here as long as time allows you to.
But otherwise you may want to start slowly.
Moving the body.
Coming back into motion.
