I invite you to settle into a quiet,

Comfortable space.

Make sure that you are lying down or sitting somewhere cosy,

Where you can relax your entire body.

In this session,

I will guide each muscle group from head to toe,

It will be like tuning an instrument,

Each part of your body will be finely adjusted,

Creating harmony between your physical body and your mental space.

Much like a river begins in the mountains as a steady stream,

Your body and mind hold on to energy and tension,

But as the river flows downwards,

It grows wider,

Deeper and calmer,

Shedding the force of its initial rush.

You too can release the energetic currents swirling within,

Letting them flow into a peaceful reservoir of stillness.

Let's begin by grounding yourself in this moment.

Start with a deep breath in through your nose,

Feel the weight of your body as it rests on the surface beneath you.

This support,

Much like the earth,

Is always beneath you,

Holding you.

You do not need to carry the weight of the day,

Imagine your body as an ancient tree rooted deeply into the earth.

Now bring your full awareness to your breath,

Feel the air as it enters your lungs,

Filling them with nourishment,

Then leaving your body carrying away any tension or tightness.

Breathe in,

Relaxation,

Breathe out,

Stress.

With each breath,

You are creating more space inside of yourself,

Inviting peace and calmness to expand.

Like waves rolling onto a beach,

Your breath moves in and out,

Rhythmic and unhurried.

Picture the breath as a tide,

Gently washing over you,

Clearing away anything you no longer need.

Allow your breath to anchor you in the present moment,

Keeping you steady as you begin your journey through your body.

You begin with your face,

As you take a slow deep breath in,

Gently scrunch up your forehead,

Raising your eyebrows as high as they can go.

Hold the tension in for just a moment,

And now release it as you exhale.

Feel your forehead smooth out,

Your eyebrows soften.

Imagine the sensation as warm sunlight melting away any remaining tension,

Leaving only relaxation behind.

Next,

Move to your jaw,

Take a breath in and gently clench your jaw just enough to feel the muscles engage.

Hold for a few seconds and release,

Letting your mouth fall open slightly.

Feel the ease spread across your face,

As if a gentle breeze is blowing against your skin,

Softening every part of you.

Now bring your attention to your neck,

Slowly tilt your head to one side,

Gently feeling the stretch.

Breathe into that space,

And then release.

Bring your head back to the centre,

Repeat this on the other side,

Allowing your neck to lengthen and release any tension.

Your shoulders are next,

Lift them towards your ears,

Tensing the muscles as you inhale and then let them drop as you exhale.

Feel the heaviness of your shoulders as though they are being pulled by gravity,

Taking all the tension away from them.

Imagine your shoulders as large gentle clouds,

Light and free,

No longer carrying the weight of the day.

Moving now to your arms,

Inhale and slowly tighten your upper arms,

Hold the tension for a moment and exhale,

Letting them fall completely limp at your sides.

Notice the feeling of lightness and relief spreading through your arms.

Now bring your attention to your hands,

Curl your fingers into fists as you take a deep breath in,

Hold the squeeze in for just a few moments and release.

Let your fingers unfurl naturally,

Imagine each fingertip glowing with warmth,

Spreading relaxation up through your hands and into your arms.

Each muscle has done its job,

Now it can rest.

Bring your awareness to your chest,

As you take a deep breath in,

Imagine the muscles in your chest expanding.

Hold the breath and the expansion for a moment,

Then exhale,

Feeling your chest fall gently.

With each breath,

Allow your heart to open,

Releasing any lingering tightness.

Now move down to your abdomen,

Inhale deeply,

Filling your belly like a balloon,

Hold the breath for a moment,

Feeling the gentle stretch of the muscles,

And then release.

Let your stomach soften,

Sinking back into a state of rest.

Imagine your torso as a peaceful ocean,

Calm and undisturbed,

With waves of relaxation gently lapping at the shore of your body.

Now bring your focus to your legs,

Start with your thighs,

Tighten them as you breathe in,

Feeling the muscles firm beneath your skin,

Hold for a moment and release.

Let your legs go completely soft and heavy,

Feel them sink deeper into the surface beneath you.

Finally,

Move to your feet,

Curl your toes and tense the soles of your feet as you take a deep breath in,

Hold for a moment and exhale,

Letting the tension drain out through your toes as though you are releasing the last bit of stress through the soles of your feet.

Your legs are now completely relaxed,

Like strong tree roots anchoring you into the earth.

Now that your body has let go of tension,

Your mind can do the same.

Picture yourself in a peaceful garden,

The sun is low in the sky,

Casting a soft golden glow across everything.

The air is warm,

But there is a light breeze that keeps you cool.

Around you,

The leaves of tall trees sway gently and you can hear the soft rustle of the wind as it passes through.

The garden is a perfect place of peace and stillness.

As you walk along the path,

You notice the softness of the ground beneath your feet.

Each step you take is slow,

Deliberate and light.

The worries of your day are fading away,

Carried away by the same breeze that moves the trees,

You feel lighter and calmer with every step.

In the centre of this garden is a tranquil pond,

The surface of the water is still,

Reflecting the sky above.

You walk to the edge and sit down,

Gazing into the water.

You notice how calm the pond is,

How it mirrors your own stillness.

As you breathe,

Your body continues to relax,

Matching the serenity of the water.

There is no pressure,

You are completely and exactly where you need to be.

Now as we begin to close this meditation,

Know that your body is deeply relaxed and your mind is calm.

You are ready to drift into a peaceful sleep.

Imagine yourself lying in a cosy bed,

The softest blankets wrapping around you.

Your body feels weightless,

As though you are floating on a cloud.

Each breath you take draws you deeper into this feeling of warmth and safety.

Let your mind wander to a place of your choosing,

Maybe it's the same garden from before,

Or perhaps it's a peaceful beach,

Where the gentle sound of the waves lulls you into a deeper state of rest.

Your body is completely relaxed now,

Every muscle from the top of your head to the tips of your toes are at ease.

Your mind is clear,

Free from distractions,

All that remains is the soft,

Rhythmic pulse of your breath,

Like a gentle lullaby.

You are floating in this space of perfect calmness,

Where nothing can disturb you.

The outside world fades away.

As you drift off,

Know that this peace,

This relaxation is always within you,

You can return to it at any time.

For now,

Rest deeply and allow your body and mind to sleep peacefully.
