
Train To Sleep
Take a Train Ride through the countryside and across the land to allow your mind to wander and your body to relax. Through this journey, let the automatic response of everything you are to slip down to a very relaxed state. There are detailed descriptions of the journey and what you should be experiencing. Your destination is a safe place for sleep and restfulness.
Transcript
It's a rainy night,
The stars are hidden behind thick cloud cover,
Only the slight glow of the moon can be seen,
Like a light behind a curtain.
Standing on a train station platform,
The puddles bubble as the raindrops fall.
You watch as the concentric circles radiate outwards.
The white noise of the rainfall is soothing as you hear it tapping on the roof of the station and the various surfaces around.
The air is clear,
Cool and very calming.
Only a few people await the arriving train.
You watch them as they pace further down the platform.
You are quite still and present,
Observing everything you see and hear.
The trees on the other side of the boundary fence rustle with the slow and occasional gusts blown by the wind.
Everything but the platform is lit.
You see the shiny tracks down below,
The stones and sleepers.
You observe the car lights floating across the hills in the distance.
The silent platform clock slides across every second,
Counting down the arrival of your train.
In sight you feel calm and can't wait to get a little bit warmer.
As you wait to start your journey,
Your mind becomes quiet,
Now concentrating only on the present.
You have your ticket ready as you rub it with your finger and thumb inside your pocket.
Watching the time on the clock become nearer to your departure time,
Your shoulders begin to slide down your back.
The waiting is almost over now as you hear the tracks rattling.
Over the tannoy you hear the announcement of stops and instructions.
As the voice concludes,
You see the lights of your train along the tracks.
Slowly but surely the train slows down to a stop.
Just silently,
Your carriage is presented in front of you.
With a hiss and a few clicks,
The doors unlock.
Picking up any luggage,
You walk over to the train.
Opening the door,
You enter.
Now stepping up onto soft carpet,
You close the door.
Immediately everything becomes quiet.
The natural outdoor sounds of rain and ambience disappear.
Checking your ticket,
You observe your seat number.
Tonight you travel in first class.
Walking along the carriage in the dim lights that provide a peaceful atmosphere,
You find your seat.
Up above is a cabin to place your luggage.
You take off your jacket and easily reach up,
Placing everything away safely.
On your seat is a blanket,
A blindfold and a comfy pair of slippers.
You pick up the items and place them on a table in front of you,
Readying them for later.
You drift down into the deeply plush cushioned seat.
As you do,
Your back relaxes instantly.
Your lower back,
Thighs,
Abdomen and shoulders relax a little too from the warmth and comfort.
You take a moment for yourself,
Allowing your breathing to calm.
Getting to each breath becoming slower,
Your shoulders and chest loosen slightly more.
Looking out of the window,
You see the dimly lit platform through the raindrops that drizzle on the glass.
You observe the last few passengers who arrived on this train,
Walking down the steps to exit the station.
Everything is still,
You only hear the subtle rumble from the train's engine.
Now in this moment,
There is no more thinking,
No more stress,
You are allowed to relax.
Your destination is a break and it starts right now.
With your breathing calm and your mind in a peaceful state,
An announcement that the train is about to depart can be heard.
You listen as the doors automatically lock,
As the whistle blows from a man on the platform waving a flag.
The signal denotes the start of your journey.
The engines pick up a little,
The carriage vibrates and the train moves off.
Your carriage is empty,
You have a peaceful environment to just relax and be yourself.
Taking off your shoes,
You pick up the slippers from the table in front and place them on your feet.
The thick warm material greatly brings relief to the bottoms of each foot,
Whilst also making them feel warmer.
As the platform disappears from sight,
Your view is replaced with trees,
Which are barely visible in front of a light show of a small village in the distance.
The sound of the tracks provide a hypnotic feeling of pleasure,
As you know it means you are journeying to a stress free place.
Travelling along these tracks will take many hours and will take all night to reach your destination.
In the meantime,
You can take time for yourself,
Placing perspective and positivity back to where it should be.
You see that your face relaxes as you see your reflection in the window,
Occasionally fading as you pass street lights nearby.
The vibrations of the train create a positive energy within,
Sifting away any negative or tense sensations that you have.
Each muscle begins to loosen a little more as your train travels across the almost silent tracks.
The door between the carriages can be heard opening as the conductor enters.
Standing next to you,
He asks to see your ticket.
Already in your hand,
You pass it to him.
He places the ticket in his machine and presses a hole to indicate that he has seen it.
Feeling as he gives the ticket back to you,
He wishes you a pleasant journey.
Thanking him,
He walks back the way he entered,
Closing the door behind himself.
Now peaceful and quiet again.
You relax a little more,
As you know you will not be disturbed from this moment on.
As this is a sleep train,
The lights dim inside and as they do,
You feel the relief flow throughout your body.
Your every breath becoming calmer and deeper as you look out through the window.
You see that the rain has now stopped and the clouds are parting above,
Revealing a yellow moon.
The moon seems not to move as your train travels its destination.
You stare out in wonder as it follows.
Mesmerised and more relaxed,
You sense your whole body way down into your plush seat.
Your neck loosens so much that your head leans back into the soft material.
Concentrating on your breath once more,
You hear every exhalation and inhalation become longer and deeper.
Your hands tingle a little from being on the arm rests.
Now shutting off any internal chatter,
Your mind shifts to a more positive state.
Perhaps out of the window,
You see your destination or a perfect idealistic place that you would like to be.
It could be night time or maybe even day time.
Your mind can go anywhere in this moment.
Bathe in the positive thoughts of the scene that you see.
Hear the sound of the train tracks and carriage movement to fade as you wander more.
You are free to let go.
In the background as you experience the vision of your perfect place,
The train continues its journey.
The shadows caused by the outside lights subconsciously make your eyes more tired,
Allowing your mind to delve deeper into what you see.
The warmth inside the carriage provides safety enough for you to fulfil every sense.
Your body sinks deeper into the comfortable seat.
An announcement is faintly heard through your daydreaming as your train will make a few stops along the way.
As the train begins to slow for the next station,
You come back to the present,
More peaceful than before.
The train becoming slower,
You are sunk further into your seat.
Lights from the outside pass your window once again as you enter into the new station.
Now arriving at the next stop,
The doors unlock and the carriages can be heard opening and closing as people alight the train.
The warmth from the heater gets a little warmer as you now reach for your blanket.
Placing the blanket over you,
You recline into your seat.
Whether you want to use the blindfold is up to you.
Warmth can instantly be felt in your upper body from the retaining heat of the blanket,
Especially around your shoulders,
Arms and chest.
You hear the transferring of passengers through the footsteps on the platform,
Which slowly fade away.
The doors close and the whistle is heard from the signal man.
With a clunk of the locks,
Another announcement is heard.
The engines prepare for the onward journey with the soothing vibrations felt through your seat and as the train moves off once again,
The platform slides past your window as a blur in the build up of speed.
The lights fade out once more and the outline of trees are observed once again.
One blur after another,
Your eyes become really tired trying to focus on anything.
Your awareness now back to peaceful thoughts,
Your imagination takes over as your body sinks down into your seat.
With your head resting,
You press a button which elevates your legs,
Now making your seat a bed.
Lying almost flat,
You watch the shadows on the ceiling of your carriage float past,
Distorting as they move,
The shadows hypnotically bringing your eyelids down as they fade.
The distant lights of the surrounding area are now becoming more scarce as you travel through the countryside.
The moon lights up the outline of the hills and fields which carpet every space you observe.
The night sky now clear,
You see the stars bright from the lack of light pollution of this natural scene.
As your eyes scan the sky,
Clusters of stars or galaxies many years away shine brightly.
A shooting star trails down to the horizon every now and then,
Almost as if giving a signal that it's ok to relax.
You are filled with comfort and reassurance in this moment,
The warmth of the blanket relaxes your body deeply.
The peace that you seek can be reflected in what you see out of your window.
Being silent,
Still,
Calm and peaceful,
You are now in sync with everything around.
Such exhalation takes your muscles down to a softness perhaps not felt before.
You can now feel the warmth within your body as your mind settles down and your eyelids descend.
Now hearing your own breathing,
You breathe in the sleep filled atmosphere and exhale anything you do not need.
Taking notice of your body,
You sense a heaviness as your head drifts further into the pillow section of your seat.
Your neck now loose,
Your shoulders,
Untensed in every way.
The tops of your arms soft as can be,
Your chest free to breathe those simple breaths that send you deeper.
Each wrist,
Hand and finger now limp as you drift off more.
Any concerns are settled in your abdomen and back area as you sink lower into the material.
Your central core and hips weigh down,
Allowing your legs,
Ankles,
Feet and toes to experience the best relaxation.
The faint announcement of the next station can just about be heard as you descend into your comfy state.
The train can be felt slowing down as you drift in and out of awareness.
The lights of this train station are a little more dim than the previous stop.
Your eyes struggle to stay open now.
Reassurance comes from the sound of movement.
The people coming on and leaving the train is barely heard as you drift deeper on every second that passes.
You see a clock on the platform and watch the second hand rotate around.
Once again the doors lock,
The whistle is heard and an announcement continues the journey.
As the train moves off and away from the station,
The clock becomes smaller and smaller,
Until out of sight.
Back within the trees and unseen night time greenery,
The train's speed levels out.
The sound of the tracks can be heard once again.
A familiar space of relaxation is regained.
Your eyes becoming ever so tired now from trying to focus on the outside world.
Heavier and heavier your body sinks further into your comfortable bed for the night.
The moonlight now glows through the nearby trees,
Shadowing your face as you look on.
You can see the soft light through your eyelids mixed in with every passing shadow.
Getting more tired,
Your head rests back further and your neck loosens immensely.
There is nothing to focus upon now.
Outside is dark.
Your only concern at this time is going to sleep.
Any thoughts are softened by your every sense being soothed from being in this most pleasant personal space.
Even the muscles behind your ears loosen as you lose awareness in moments of euphoric sleepiness.
Each wrist loose as can be,
With your hands,
Palms and fingers splayed down.
No more thought for today,
You wander further into the sleep that you so need.
Things become a little blurred between sleep and awareness on the way to the third stop.
You begin to slip into sleep every now and then,
Mildly aware of the sounds around as your breathing becomes more prominent.
Even your thoughts is now a thing of the past as you drift deeper into a sleepier state.
You are on your way to a tranquil getaway,
A place of beauty and peacefulness.
As you peer out of your very tired eyes,
You see that the train is crossing over a bridge.
Below is a river that shimmers in the moonlight.
Hills either side make this the perfect night time scene.
Moving it to the other side,
You slip deeper into the state of sleep.
Travelling through tunnels now into the mountains,
It all becomes dark,
Allowing you to drift off easier.
The comfort of the darkness brings you closer to your true self.
Through and out the other side of each mountain,
You become calmer and more relaxed.
The moon glances around each hilltop,
Creating a balance of blissfulness.
Now as your train slides away from the mountain range,
It's magnificence can be seen as you see it as a collective.
Across the field you go,
A plain flat landscape in contrast.
An announcement for the third stop is heard as the train starts to slow.
Now entering the station,
This time there are hardly any lights.
The station looks empty,
Not even the sight of a signal man.
This stop is a very quiet one,
Only the unlocking of the doors can be observed.
No audible footsteps this time.
After a wait,
The doors lock once again and the train moves off.
With the platform fading out into the darkness,
You resume sinking down into your bed for the night.
On the way to your destination,
On the next stop,
You slip a little deeper.
Asleep you go in the ambient familiar movement of the train.
Your eyelids heavier than before as every muscle loosens to the fact you are moving closer to your chosen place.
Through a wooded area filled with trees only shown by the light of the moon,
This natural untouched place outside your window brings peace within.
The trees now turning into hills and caves,
The crystals in the rock shimmer their own light.
Purples,
Blues and reds are seen with the odd sparkle of much bigger precious elements.
The limestone illuminates everything to be seen quite clearly.
On looking more closely,
Beautiful gardens and tranquil coves are situated in between the caves.
The train slowly moving along the tracks,
Almost rocking you to sleep.
You look on.
You realise that this place is for healing and re-energising.
The natural crystals shine their positive energies out and are magnified by the rock faces.
As the train comes to a halt,
There is no announcement.
The doors unlock in the quietness of stillness.
The inside of the carriage is illuminated,
Very much with a reflection like that of a swimming pool.
You stand up and walk towards the door,
All the while in wonder at the beauty you observe.
Your slippers are comfy.
You are still wrapped in your blanket as you exit the train.
Now being much brighter,
The ambience of this blissful place can be felt.
A freedom of breathing naturally and a relief of being ever so relaxed is experienced.
As you walk forwards,
The neat grass silently bends and springs back on each step.
This grass is the greenest you have ever seen.
Looking down at your body,
The reflections from the crystals create a soothing pattern.
You now feel the energy of this wondrous,
Peaceful space.
Absorbing all the positivity you feel in this moment,
You relax completely.
The muscle now flows with your every step.
Every step calms each breath.
In a cove at the other side of the green is a plush,
Thick cushioned filled bed,
Large in size and soft as can be.
As you walk over to the bed,
Your eyelids become heavier as you leave your footprints in the past.
Getting closer,
The energy you feel sends you deeper into a very euphoric state of mind.
Your mind now quiet,
This place silent.
You clamber onto the mattress.
As you climb in,
Leaving your blanket on the ground,
You rest your head on the softest pillow you have ever felt.
A warmth from the sheets instantly calms you more and perhaps you don't even feel them as they are so light.
As your head sinks downwards,
Your neck loosens and that sensation continues down your whole body.
Your eyes tired now,
The soft elegance of what you see brings every level down.
The positive and refreshing energy of positivity makes you feel completely at peace.
Now comfortable enough not to move,
Every muscle and thought is settled.
The deeper you go.
As you close your eyes once more,
Your mind shifts towards healing by resting and re-energising.
Re-energising anything is too much hard work right now,
You just sink a little deeper with each exhalation.
As you descend every part of your body,
You become heavier.
Every muscle now relaxed as can be,
All thought of sleep.
You relax and you just let go.
With the healing crystals rejuvenating you as you sleep,
You feel the effects in your body.
Starting from your head,
The muscles behind your ears loosen,
Allowing your jaw to widen as you find your sleep.
Every frown disappears from your forehead as all muscles in your face begin to sink.
Your brows restfully find their place and as they do,
Your eyes,
Cheeks and mouth descend downwards too.
Down deeper your arms go,
Becoming limp as do your wrists,
Hands and fingers.
You can literally feel any resistance or negative energy leave your body.
Down from your shoulders,
Your chest loosens each breath,
Which in turn widens your rib cage to allow for easier breathing.
On each exhalation,
Your body descends further.
Down from your chest,
A stillness is felt in your abdomen and hips.
Your central core now allowing your back to find its place of rest for the night in a deep plush mattress.
Even further and deeper,
Sleepily wandering into a dream state you go.
Each thigh loose,
Each knee unlocked and each ankle free to turn the keys that are your feet that open the door to sleep.
Feeling a freedom within your whole body now,
Your mind wanders deep into a sleep filled space.
Letting go now,
You fall asleep and release into rejuvenation,
Peace and healing.
As you sleep,
You hear the wonderful intentions of the crystals that surround you.
Using your eyes once more,
You listen as you fall asleep.
Your body sinking down,
Every muscle relaxing softly and gently.
Your face now at peace as you fall asleep in this wondrous place.
Your hands and fingers let go,
Your arms slumped into a comfortable position and your mind now clear.
Lose yourself again as you fall asleep once more,
Deep into your own imagination.
Breathing and letting go with everything that you are,
Your breathing becomes even deeper.
As you drift into your dream world for the night,
You glide silently and sleepily towards the best night sleep that you have ever had.
Letting go completely,
You enter into sleep.
Away,
Floating and gliding,
Gently and smoothly,
You rest your head for the night.
You are letting go of your day by sinking into ease and comfort.
Everything is slowing down from your breathing to your thoughts.
You find tranquility in this moment.
You are enough right now,
The warmth of self love that you feel helps you make peace with today.
Letting every part of you to rest now,
You let go of your worries,
Even if just for now.
You leave every negative emotion behind as you close your eyes,
Readying yourself for a restful sleep.
You know that by releasing everything negative,
You can be present enough to slumber down in the space you create in your mind.
You are warm and safe.
You can recall this feeling at any time you wish.
The slowing down of thought in the gentle loosening of your chest.
Clear areas in your mind is where you can find peace.
You clear all away that does not serve you.
Every warmth,
Comfort and peace is bestowed upon your every emotion at this time.
Tops of your arms soften in every way,
Loosening your chest as you play amongst the dreams that you discover.
Discover more about this space in your mind and of your inner self.
Feel how free you are of negativity,
Here the scales are tipped undoubtedly towards positivity.
Be you in this moment,
With everything that you are,
Doing things in your own way.
Now as you absorb every meaningful and pleasing sensation that this space offers,
Your eyelids become heavy.
Your back and neck rest heavier in each recognised moment of drifting out of consciousness.
You slide deeper into the dream world where everything is soft,
Gentle and peaceful.
You cherish this time that you have being warm and comfortable.
You are happy with the things that you have achieved today,
Even if they were the smallest of things.
You appreciate everything that you are as you rest your head down in relief.
You are now falling asleep with only positive thoughts on your mind.
As your breathing becomes calmer,
It reminds you that your sleep will be calmed too.
The night air soothes you down with each and every breath that you take.
Breathing smoothly,
Silently and peacefully,
You are almost at your place of choosing.
Your legs and arms now light as a feather,
Dangling only on the air and energy of your peacefulness.
You can find everything you need here to bring the most comfort to yourself.
Now as you experience your dream world,
You completely lose yourself in this space that is just for you.
Allow your shoulders to roll down some more as you pleasantly smile in the doing of being present.
As you sleep,
You know that the sun will rise once again,
Taking you out of darkness.
The atmosphere of this peaceful night will replenish your positive energy.
Sleep is a choice.
You decide to delve deeper as you rest your mind and body.
You are receiving peace from the universe as you release yourself from today.
As you let go more,
You are brought healing to your feelings and emotions from the serene stillness of the night.
There is silence inside,
Your body still.
You observe your breaths settling you down on a bed of dreams.
As you sleep,
Your mind relaxes more and your body releases all tension.
As you sleep,
You become wiser from the experiences of today,
Allowing you to be calmer tomorrow.
You leave behind thoughts that do not benefit you and replace them with a glow of self-love.
Your energy begins to shine,
Lighting your aura into a purple glow of the love that you show for yourself.
Your true self is now free in this interpretation of your safe,
Happy place.
You look to the warmth inside yourself to relax some more.
As you take each gentle,
Deeper breath,

There is no need for you to think anymore for today.

The grasp of any tension now weakens as you willingly enter into your dream world of peaceful sleep.
As you rest,

Using your eyes inside your mind once again,
