Go To Sleep Feeling Safe
This is a reassuring sleep meditation to make you feel safe and convey that everything is ok before you drift off into dreamland. This is also somewhat of a simple meditation for listening, but can help relax your mind and body.

Take a deep breath in and let it out slowly,
Feel the air as it moves through you,
Filling you with calmness and as you exhale,
Feel the weight of the day begin to fade.
You are here now,
In this moment,
And that is all that matters.
Whatever has happened today,
Whatever stress,
Frustration or worries,
This is your time to let them go.
They do not belong in this space.
Take another deep breath in and release.
Let your body settle,
Your shoulders loosen,
Your jaw relax.
With each breath,
You are inviting peace and releasing any tension that has gathered inside of you.
It's ok to take this time for yourself,
You deserve it.
You are not responsible for carrying the weight of the day any longer.
Whatever has happened is in the past and right now,
All you need to do is be here,
Allowing yourself to unwind.
As you lie down,
Feel the surface beneath you,
Let it hold you.
You don't have to hold yourself up right now.
You are safe,
Supported and exactly where you need to be.
Starting at your feet,
Notice any tension or tightness.
Gently wiggle your toes and then let them soften.
Imagine a warm wave of relaxation washing over them,
Releasing any strain.
Now moving up to your legs,
They have carried you through today,
Through every step,
Every moment,
They deserve to rest.
Let them become heavy,
Sinking deeper into relaxation.
Feel this wave move up to your hips and lower back,
Areas that often hold the burdens of the day.
Breathe into any tightness and as you exhale,
Let it dissolve.
Imagine the tension melting away,
Like mist evaporating under the warmth of the sun.
Now bring your focus to your chest,
This is where emotions often sit,
Like anxiety,
Worry or stress.
Place a gentle hand there if it feels comfortable.
Take a deep breath in and as you exhale,
Let go of anything weighing on your heart.
Imagine those feelings drifting away,
Carried off like leaves floating down a quiet stream.
Feel this sense of ease moving up to your shoulders,
Down to your arms,
Through your hands.
Let them loosen,
Let them rest.
There is nothing to hold onto right now.
Now bring your awareness to your face,
Relax your jaw,
Let your forehead smooth out,
Unclench your teeth.
If there is any tension remaining,
Breathe into it and let it go.
You are now in a place of complete comfort,
This is your space,
Your time.
The outside world does not exist here,
This is your sanctuary,
A place where you are free to just be.
If any thoughts try to pull you back to today,
Gently acknowledge them and then let them drift away,
Like clouds passing in the sky,
Never lingering too long.
Thoughts will come and go,
But they do not control you,
You are in control.
And you are choosing peace.
Breathe in calmness and breathe out all that no longer serves you.
You are safe,
You are enough,
You are deeply,
Completely loved.
Now begin to simply rest,
Now that you are feeling a little bit more at ease,
Shift your focus inwards,
Again,
This is your time to rest,
Not just your body but your mind and your spirit as well.
Take another deep gentle breath in and slowly exhale,
Feel yourself sinking even deeper,
As if you are melting into this moment of calmness.
There is nowhere you need to be,
Nothing you need to do,
Right now,
The only thing that matters is your peace.
Now,
I want you to imagine a warm golden light surrounding you.
This light is soft and soothing,
Like the morning sun filtering through a window.
It wraps around you like a gentle embrace,
Protecting you,
Comforting you.
With every breath in,
You are pulling this golden light into your body.
It fills you with warmth,
Healing and tranquility.
With every breath out,
You are releasing anything heavy,
Like tension,
Stress or any thoughts from the day that no longer need your attention.
Breathe in peace,
Breathe out worry,
Breathe in calmness,
Breathe out tension.
As you continue to breathe,
Picture yourself in a place that brings you comfort.
This might be a quiet meadow,
A soft sunlit beach or a forest with trees gently swaying.
It could even be a place from your memories,
Anywhere that makes you feel safe.
Wherever this place is,
Allow yourself to be there completely,
Feel the air around you,
The gentle sounds of nature,
The softness beneath you.
In this place,
Nothing from today can reach you.
Any worries,
Stress or negativity,
Stay behind,
Outside the boundaries of this peaceful space.
Here,
You are free,
Free to let go,
Free to just be.
You are not your bad days,
You are not your mistakes,
Your worries or the moments that made you feel small.
You are so much more,
You are strong,
You are worthy,
You are loved.
In this moment,
Remind yourself that it's ok to feel how you feel,
It's ok to have difficult days,
It's ok to be tired,
But you don't have to carry those feelings into tomorrow.
You can set them down,
Just like a heavy bag that you no longer need to hold.
Take a deep breath in,
And as you exhale,
Imagine yourself placing all of today's burdens on the ground,
They are not yours to carry any longer.
Now,
Feel yourself becoming lighter,
The golden light around you grows brighter,
Filling you with a deep sense of peace and renewal.
You are safe,
You are enough,
Everything is ok.
And as you settle even deeper into a very relaxed state,
Allow your mind to drift.
You are floating in a sea of calmness,
You are floating in a sea of calmness,
Where nothing can disturb your rest,
Let go,
Sleep is gently calling you and you are ready to receive it.
Now that there's nothing left for you to do,
You've given yourself this time to unwind,
To let go and to welcome peace into your heart and mind.
You have released the weight of the day,
It no longer exists here,
All that remains in this moment is the feeling of warmth,
Stillness,
Of complete and utter relaxation.
With each natural breath,
You are drifting further and further into a peaceful sleep,
There is nothing pulling at you,
Nothing demanding your attention.
Sleep is near now,
Wrapping around you like a soft,
Comforting blanket.
If any thoughts try to surface,
There's no need to push them away,
Simply acknowledge them and then let them float by,
Like leaves on a quiet river,
Drifting effortlessly downstream.
There is nothing to solve right now,
Nothing to fix,
Nothing to figure out,
Everything that needs your attention will wait for you.
For now,
Your only job is to rest,
Imagine yourself sinking deeper,
As if you're lying on the softest cloud,
Weightless and free.
Every part of you is completely at ease,
Your breath is steady,
Slow and effortless.
The golden light that surrounds you begins to soften,
Dimming just like the sky at sunset.
You are safe in this glow,
Protected by its warmth.
It will watch over you as you sleep,
Keeping you wrapped up in peace throughout the night.
There is a deep sense of stillness within you,
A calmness that reaches every part of your being.
This calmness is yours to keep,
It is always within you,
Always waiting for you whenever you need it.
As you drift even deeper,
I want you to hear these words and let them settle into your heart.
You are enough.
You do not have to be perfect,
You do not have to carry everything on your own.
You deserve kindness from others and from yourself.
Right now,
You are exactly as you should be.
Let yourself rest in this knowing,
Let yourself be cradled by the soft rhythm of your breath,
By the warmth of your own presence.
You are held by the universe,
By the quiet serenity of this moment.
Sleep is here now,
Let it take you.
Let go of everything now,
Release all that doesn't serve you in this moment and surrender completely to rest and recharge.
You are free to sleep,
You are free to dream.
You are free to wake up tomorrow,
Feeling light,
Renewed and at peace.
But for now,
Simply drift,
Drift into the quietness,
Drift into the stillness,
Drift into sleep.
