Hello!
I hope all is well and if it isn't then this is a moment to allow some softness.
Maybe taking a moment to notice where there is tension in your face or your body.
Maybe take a few conscious breaths and just allow yourself to let go,
Allow yourself to arrive,
Making space for whatever emotions might be bubbling away,
Including all of it.
No,
You don't have to fix anything,
Make anything happen,
Just being here is enough.
I needed to take that moment myself.
So I'm going to be addressing a situation that I've been in myself and that I know through speaking to lots of people that lots of other people have also been in and it's this this moment,
This situation,
Maybe this phase of life when we feel stuck and it could be any situation where you feel stuck but what I've noticed is that it tends to be the people that I've spoken to around working life.
Maybe it's a job that just feels too demanding,
Too rigid,
Where you have to deal with difficult people or maybe there's just a lack of fulfillment in what you're doing or a sense of like uneasiness with the system that you are operating within that just doesn't actually align with who you are and what you believe in,
What's important to you.
And when you're in this kind of situation,
There can be the sense that your life is controlled by someone or something outside of you and you can't do anything about it.
There's this feeling of I'm being controlled and there's pretty much nothing I can do.
So there's a lot of internal pressure that comes with this situation and a lot of restlessness,
Like not quite knowing what to do.
And so I've been in this situation a few times and what I've learned is that although there is this sense of pressure and urgency to change what feels quite unpleasant and maybe even wrong,
Things don't have to be different on the outside for us to feel very different on the inside.
And when we feel different on the inside,
Our experience of our outer world changes dramatically too.
Now this isn't about putting up with shitty situations,
You know,
Putting up and shutting up and just putting up with it forever.
It's not about that,
It's about staying empowered.
So it might seem like moving matter in the real world should come first when we notice that something is out of alignment,
But what I've found is that our energy is the real priority.
Because when I'm stable within myself,
That is when I'm most able to respond to life,
To work with it.
And you know,
Actions obviously do want to be taken to change situations,
To shift our life.
But when we feel stable and whole within ourselves,
That is when we achieve the clarity of mind and motivation required to take those actions.
So if you are moving through a situation that feels out of alignment and also hard to change and there is this feeling of I'm stuck,
I'm going to share some tips and some perspective shifts to essentially help you protect your energy and safeguard your peace and therefore maintain a sense of stability and well-being and clarity of mind and the motivation to move towards whatever is calling you.
So the first point is that it can be really helpful to remember that life is made up of moments.
Life is made up of moments,
Single moments,
And you only have to be with this moment now.
What I've noticed is that things can feel really hard and really hopeless when we extend a moment into a lifetime.
For example,
When we have a moment of frustration during the working day and there's this storyline that's attached to it,
Like I'm stuck in this job forever.
Have you ever said anything like that or felt anything like that,
That there is this kind of foreverness?
We often do this,
Copying and pasting one moment into the future.
My invitation here is to see what it would feel like to release the story,
The story of the future,
The story of the past,
Even the story of now,
And instead just be with this moment right here and let this be all that exists.
This is especially helpful when we are feeling a sense of frustration or fear or anxiety.
If we just stay with it in this moment and give space to those feelings rather than projecting into the future which just intensifies all of that and all of the story on a loop,
Our power will return.
And the second invitation I have around this is to see if you can view this moment of reactivity,
Of feeling like something is out of alignment,
As an opportunity to reaffirm what it is that you actually do want.
So this situation,
Whatever it is for you,
It might be that this situation isn't inherently bad or wrong,
But it's just what is right now,
And through this you're noticing what's important to you.
For example,
If you're noticing that you're spending way too much time on admin or doing crap on your computer,
Maybe through that you're seeing how you desire to be more grounded in your physical environment,
Or spend more time in nature,
Or spend more time in connection,
In relationship with other people.
Maybe your timetable is really rigid and your boss is not very flexible,
And that's showing you that it's important for you to have freedom,
To decide how you spend your time,
What tasks you do and when.
So maybe just take a moment now to just think,
What is this showing me that's important to me?
What is this showing me that if I could create this with life,
For my life,
It would feel so good?
And from that awareness you might gently affirm out loud,
I'm open to being guided to create a life in which I get to fill in the gap.
And imagine how that reality would feel.
Let it be an experience for a few seconds.
How would it feel to have freedom in your schedule,
Space in your schedule?
How would it feel to work on projects that excite you,
That activate creativity,
Or whatever it is that you are noticing is important?
How would it feel in your body,
In your face,
Your whole energetic being?
And then gently let it go,
Coming back to the present.
So now there is awareness of what's important to you,
What you are wanting to create,
Shift,
Experience.
The third and important point is to release the need to figure it all out.
Release the pressure to make it happen.
Now this is tricky because the mind,
When it sees a gap between A and B,
The place I'm at and the place I want to be,
It wants to close that gap.
And it will keep you very busy trying to figure out how to close that gap.
But you don't have to do that.
And what you're wanting to create isn't going to come from a perfect plan that you've executed in a single moment.
Inner alignment leads to outer alignment.
So I encourage you to focus on releasing resistance,
Releasing stress.
Rest in centered awareness.
Allow your power to come back to you.
Because it's from this place where the ideas will come and the action steps will become known when they are meant to.
So there's no need to chase.
So releasing resistance is really,
Really key.
I mean,
That's probably the main point,
I would say,
When we are in these kind of situations,
Which is so hard because,
Again,
We see what's wrong and we want to fix it.
We think that it's our job to fix it.
So something that can help release resistance is trust,
Is trust,
Trusting that there's purpose to the point to the situation.
Now,
I don't want to encourage bypassing and,
You know,
Trying to sort of prematurely feel good about things.
So I do recommend just sitting with your emotions first,
Allowing everything that you feel to be felt.
But something that does become clear in hindsight,
That maybe we can,
We all,
We've all experienced,
That maybe you can apply to this to help,
Help you connect with trust,
Is that this situation,
Although it may not be aligned for you long term,
Maybe right now it is actually serving a need,
May not be serving your most deeply important needs,
But it may be serving an important need.
Maybe it's allowing you to pay your bills,
And perhaps there is a deeper layer here as well.
Something that I've come to realize is how helpful contrast is.
It helps us appreciate things in our lives in a more profound way.
There was a moment a few years ago where I quit my nine-to-five and I had no income for quite a while,
And I had never been so broke in my life before.
And honestly,
It was terrifying,
Like it just transformed my whole experience of life.
It was,
I was seeing life through such a different lens.
And although it was really hard,
It completely reprogrammed my relationship with money.
And it's interesting because it could have,
You know,
Reprogrammed my relationship in a negative way,
But because I was also at the same time learning like about wealth consciousness and how to work with our emotions around money,
This experience coupled with that information meant that actually when I slowly started to get back on my feet,
Having even just enough to go shopping,
To buy some vegetables,
Felt and still feels,
Even to this day,
Like a huge luxury.
Like honestly,
I'm still in awe,
To be honest,
When I realized that I can buy anything in the supermarket that I want,
Because there was a time when I couldn't.
And so I look back at that period,
Which was so hard,
With a fondness,
Because I see how it's helped me deeply appreciate the simplest things that I get to pay for.
So I'm not asking you to search for a silver lining of your situation necessarily,
Although maybe there's something in you that that can feel or know something that actually does feel purposeful and meaningful.
But it's more of an invitation to trust,
And in that trust helping the releasing process,
The releasing of the resistance.
So we reached the final point that I wanted to share.
We evolved as a species,
Not through things being awesome all the time.
It was through things being less than favorable that has allowed us to evolve,
Because we adjusted.
Every need that we have,
There is a resource or a number of resources to meet that need.
So I like to ask the question,
What inner resource,
If I could bring this out in me,
If I could embody this,
Would make this situation feel less of an issue?
What inner qualities could I draw upon to create more peace in my being?
Is it willingness?
Is it groundedness?
Patience?
Maybe this is part of the divine design,
This mysterious path that you're on,
To build you up,
To show you what you are.
So I invite you,
If you'd like,
To take a moment to think about this situation again,
And reflect on that question.
If I could embody a quality or a skill that would make this situation feel easier to manage,
What would that be?
Or perhaps,
What is this situation helping me to grow?
So write it down,
And imagine how you would feel in your body if that skill,
That quality,
Was active as you went about your day.
Imagine the impact it would have on your feelings,
Your thoughts,
Your emotions,
And your actions.
And know that just by having this in your mind,
You are helping this skill to grow.
You are helping resilience to grow.
So in summary,
We can't control what happens day to day on the outside,
But we can choose a positive trajectory for our own existence by re-centering in peace.
The easiest way back to peace is through non-resistance,
And from there we can acknowledge what is important to me,
What am I open to being guided towards,
To be assisted to create for myself and for the role I want to play on this earth.
While also letting go of the need to figure it out,
How to get there,
And just trusting that the next step will reveal itself naturally,
When the time is right.
And trusting that for now,
It is enough,
It's absolutely enough to allow yourself to rest and feel at ease in centred awareness.
That honestly is where your power is.
Take good care of yourself.
