Sit comfortably with your back straight but not rigid.
If you like you may close your eyes or keep them open with a soft gaze ahead.
Now just take some conscious breaths,
So following the movement of air as it comes in and as it goes out.
Now become aware of your body as a whole.
Notice how it feels to be sitting here in this moment,
In this posture.
Notice if there's any area of tension,
And just see if you can let any tension go.
Now call to mind a belief that causes you to suffer.
Make it clear in your mind by thinking of a situation in which this belief about yourself appears in your life.
What is the belief?
It's okay.
Allow it to be here in this space,
Not clinging but also not rejecting.
Now let's investigate this belief.
Where did it come from?
What is it like to live with this belief?
How has this belief impacted you?
How has it influenced your behaviour?
How has it affected your relationships?
Now release the thoughts,
Just become aware once again of your body,
Your posture and any physical sensations.
Now imagine that your higher self,
The wisest most loving part of you,
Or your future self,
Is looking down at you now,
Feeling the suffering that this belief that you have about yourself is causing you.
What is your higher being or your future self saying to you now?
It could be an image,
It could be a sentence,
It could be a touch.
But receive it.
If it feels right,
Place a hand on your heart.
And feel yourself receiving that loving,
Wise energy.
Savor it.
Let it fill your entire body.
Now ask yourself,
Who would I be if I no longer held on to this belief?
How would I feel?
What would I do?
Thoughts are not facts,
No matter how real they seem in the moment.
The fact is,
There's nothing wrong with you.
And as a creation of the universe,
You are perfect.
