Hello there,

So I'm just going to offer you a quick,

Simple,

But powerful circuit breaker for overthinking.

Because stress,

Anxiety and overwhelm that are so common these days are essentially the fruits of persistent negative thinking.

So us humans are masters of drama.

You might not think that you're creative,

But I'm willing to bet that like most of us,

You have an Oscar worthy film producer in that brain of yours.

All day long we create detailed stories about the way things are,

The way things will be,

Or maybe the way things were in the past.

Normally with underlying tones of lack,

Limitation,

Fear,

Incapability.

Sometimes the thoughts are helpful,

But sometimes they're not.

So what do we do?

Do we need to get a lobotomy?

Should we all be meditating for 10 hours a day?

Do we need to stop all thoughts?

Well thankfully the solution is actually a little simpler than all of that and a lot more realistic.

And that is to practice discernment.

So asking a simple but powerful question when you catch yourself in the throes of storytelling can change everything.

Is this thought track that I'm on harmful or is it helpful?

If you feel like crap,

It's harmful.

This thought track is weakening you mentally,

Emotionally and physically.

It's disrupting your connection to your higher self,

To source energy,

To the wisdom from which you have been created.

Creating a greater distance between you and your desires,

Between you and peace,

Between you and experiences of satisfaction and well-being.

So if you notice that,

Yeah,

This thought track is harmful.

Let go.

Let it dissolve.

If you stop feeding the thoughts with your attention,

Then the story,

The pain,

The anxiety has nothing to hold onto.

It can't grow.

It can't persist without your attention,

Without you feeding it with more thoughts.

So let go and let yourself attend to your present moment physical experience instead.

Sights,

Sounds,

Sensations in the body.

Plug yourself back into the energy of neutrality and notice what shifts inside of you as a result.

Einstein said something along the lines of,

We can't solve a problem from the same level of consciousness that created it.

It's helpful to remind ourselves of that because often we get stuck in these stories and there's this element of looking for something,

Looking for a solution,

Fixing,

Doing,

Taking action in our minds.

But if it's coming from fear rather than our true power which is that energy of neutrality,

That connection to our higher self is not one of trying to get everything in order in our mind.

It's a space of being,

Beingness,

Awareness,

Trust,

Peace.

So notice the tension as you go about your day.

Ask the question,

Is this thought track I'm on harmful or helpful?

And if it's harmful,

Allow yourself to let go of it,

Even just for a few seconds and shift into the present.

What are you noticing in your present experience?

That is enough for now.

So repeating this process a hundred million times a day if you need to.

We do need to go a few rounds before inner peace becomes a habit.

Alright,

This is brain training.

This is being on your own side.

This is your power,

Creating new ways of being in the world,

New ways of spending your attention that actually fully support you.

Thank you for listening,

Take care of yourself and I'll be back soon.
