Hello,
This is Catherine Cook-Katon.
Welcome to the meditation titled Positive Embodiment,
I Deserve to be Safe.
This meditation was written for people who have been through difficult times.
Times in which maybe they felt like the world or others did not keep them safe.
When this happens it can be very easy to forget that you deserve to be safe and you deserve to have the experience of being positively embodied.
Begin this practice by taking a moment and finding yourself in a comfortable position where you can be both alert and relaxed.
Take time to connect to the ground below you.
Press your feet or legs,
Your sitting bones into your chair,
Into the floor.
Take time to notice,
Maybe ask,
Do I feel supported?
Do I feel grounded?
And if you need more connection,
Press down with your feet,
Press down with your sitting bones and make adjustments.
Maybe you can add a cushion or a pillow,
A blanket,
Something for a little more support.
Secure what you need for your work to come from a supported and grounded place.
Now if it feels right,
Allow your eyes to close or settle.
Maybe settle your gaze gently and allow your eyes to soften.
As you sit grounded and supported,
Begin to notice your breath,
The flow of your breath in and the flow of your breath out.
There is no need to change your breath,
Simply notice it,
All of your attention focused on the inhale and the exhale of your breath.
If your mind is active,
See if you can allow it to gently settle.
Allow the thoughts to fade into the background.
You can come back to them later for certain,
But for now focus simply on the breath as it comes in and the breath as it goes out.
Feeling the support.
