Communication between your mind and body is happening non-stop.

Updates,

Streaming,

Notifications are happening even in your sleep.

But most of the time,

Most of us are missing it.

Welcome to your daily whisper.

I am Cara Bradley bringing you a new series on mind-body communication.

I am so excited to be here because this really,

Really matters.

In a world that is getting noisier,

Faster,

More chaotic,

We must,

And I say that really emphatically,

We must start listening to the information streaming through our body.

We must become fluent in the updates that are happening between mind and body.

Did you know that 70% to 80% of the information happening in your body-mind is happening from the ground up?

In other words,

The body is feeding your brain 70% to 80% of the direction,

Guidance,

Updates,

And notifications in any given moment.

And only 20% to 30% is happening from the top down,

From the brain or the mind to the body.

Why does this matter?

Because in any given moment,

My friend,

You are getting hits of guidance,

Hits of direction,

Intelligence,

Wisdom,

Insight that is happening internally that you may be missing.

And we can become more fluent in the language of the body.

This is something I have been absolutely passionate about my entire life.

What am I missing internally?

What is my body trying to tell me in any given moment?

And so my passion,

And I would say slash obsession,

Has been to understand the updates moment to moment that are happening with whatever situation I'm in.

What does my body-mind want me to know in this moment,

Want me to do right now,

Want me to say or not say?

Do you get the sense that this could be really,

Really important in this ever-faster-spinning world that we live in?

Well,

I want to bring this to you and to share with you what I'm learning,

How I'm becoming fluent in the language of the body-mind,

How I am listening more deeply and learning to ride the impulses that are coming through me in any given situation.

It's not that complicated.

You already know how to do this.

I'm just here to remind you.

As always,

I'm here to remind you of what you already know,

But perhaps have forgotten to do,

Or because of the busyness in your mind,

Because of the speed of life,

Because of the scheduling and the information and the news,

You may have just simply forgotten that it works.

So for today,

For today,

The only suggestion I have is to start paying attention to what your body is telling you in the simple,

Most obvious ways.

It's how we start to build the muscle of awareness,

Somatic awareness,

The awareness of the body.

What can we do?

Well,

I love questions,

And you can simply ask yourself.

Maybe every hour,

Maybe during transitions in your life,

Getting in and out of the car,

Going to and from work,

Whatever transitions become obvious.

You can even do it at red lights.

What's the update?

That's the question.

What's the update right now?

Am I cold?

Am I hot?

Am I just right?

Am I thirsty?

Am I hungry?

Am I good?

Am I tired?

Do I feel energized?

Am I tense or relaxed?

Start to ask these simple,

Simple questions.

Listen for the answers.

You don't need the answers to come into your mind to give you a word.

Sometimes they do,

But you can just sense into what your body is telling you.

That's it.

Listening for updates.

What will happen,

My friend,

Is that as you start asking,

What's the update,

More and more you will start getting hits,

Deeper hits,

More subtle hits of what's right,

Not right,

What's working,

Not working,

What you need,

Don't need,

What you should say,

Not say.

It's a beautiful thing.

In closing here,

Remember that the communication between your mind and your body is constant,

And most of the time it's going upstream.

In other words,

80% of this intelligence is streaming from body to mind.

We want to become fluent,

And we start by listening for updates.
