I recently read that human beings are hardwired to go where they are looking.
If we're looking forward,
We move forward.
If we're looking back,
We go back.
Sounds simple,
Right?
Welcome to your daily whisper.
This is Cara Bradley bringing you what is fresh in my mind these days,
And I've been asking myself,
Where are you looking?
Are you looking forward or are you looking back?
This is a bit of a continuation on my last whisper when I shared the story of closing chapters.
I realized that if I continue to look back in my life,
I will be stuck,
Stuck in old stories,
Limited beliefs,
Perhaps even burdened with old struggles.
If I can recondition myself to look forward more often,
I believe I will feel more open,
Available,
And even hopeful.
Where are you looking?
Is there any chapter that you need to close?
If you're not sure,
Take a listen to the last whisper.
Sometimes we get stuck looking backward.
We're looking in the rear view mirror more often than we're looking in the windshield.
We're in reverse more often than we're in drive.
This has been a huge lesson for me in the last few weeks,
Especially in the last week.
I want to be available for all opportunity,
Possibility,
For new,
Fresh chapters to be written in my life,
And to do so,
I realize more and more that I need to look forward more than I look back.
How about you?
If you're not sure,
Write about it.
Write out the question in your journal.
Where am I looking?
Or catch yourself like I do.
Catch yourself looking back and just redirect it over and over.
This is how we repattern,
Recondition ourselves.
We can change the quality of our thoughts.
This has been something I've been working on myself,
Looking forward more than looking back.
I want to say that all the good stuff that's happened in my life,
And there's been so much,
All that good stuff has become a part of who I am and what I carry forward.
So there's no reason,
Really,
To look back,
To retell stories over and over,
Because the good stuff I carry with me,
And that's a really good thing.
I hope this was helpful.
Be well.
