Welcome to this morning meditation.
The purpose of this meditation is to hopefully start a practice for you.
Just like yoga,
Meditation is great for really creating that practice,
That routine,
New habits.
I find that adding meditation to my morning routine has changed my life for the better,
Absolutely.
So I'm glad to have you with me,
Excited to have you start your morning practice.
Will you find a comfortable place with a nice straight spine?
And let's take a deep breath in and release.
Breathe in deeply and out fully.
Let's take one more deep breath in and breathe out fully again.
Start to settle into that softer,
Gentler breath,
Allowing each cycle to just kind of quiet the mind a little bit and relax the body,
Allowing the mind to slow all those thoughts.
Give yourself permission to let go of the to-do list,
The what I didn't get done yesterday list,
All the things that keep your mind running from one thing to the other.
As those thoughts come in,
Just recognize them,
Witness them,
Acknowledge them,
And then let them go on the exhalation and bring your attention back to the breath,
Following it in and out,
In and out.
Continue this practice and this cycle as new thoughts come up,
New things come into your mind,
But just acknowledging them and then letting them go without judgment,
Knowing that this is the nature of ourselves and our mind,
Yet managing that can behoove us in many ways.
Notice how your body is starting to relax a little more and more,
And allow yourself to consciously release any muscles that you find still tight and tense.
Feel that mental and physical release,
Giving you permission to let down your guard for a few moments.
As you arrive at that place of true release,
Detachment,
Take a moment to observe the day ahead without judgment or attachment.
Witness your day playing out according to plan with flow and ease,
Allowing it to play out in your mind.
Allow this image to be planted firmly in your mind like a seed for the day.
Let's take a moment to water that seed with a few moments of gratitude.
Gratitude for all we have in this moment,
This day,
And this life.
It's time to come back now to your physical space.
Bring some light movement into your body.
Take a deep breath in and release,
And come back when you're ready.
Thank you so much for joining me today.
I hope this is just the beginning of your morning practice.
To me,
This is the very basics of our self-care and the easiest way we can take good care of ourselves in a matter of five minutes,
10 minutes,
20 minutes.
It doesn't matter what we have,
It will help us.
Namaste.
