At any given moment,
Any given time,
In life or a season,
Things can get tough.
What is under our control is minimal,
And what is out of our control could be concerning.
Pause,
Take a moment and breathe.
If it's not in your control,
It's difficult to ignore or release.
For now,
Try.
Try to be here for a moment,
And if thoughts you cannot control come in,
Release them.
Release the things going on in the world,
In your community,
At your job,
In your family,
With your friends.
And be here in the moment.
Take a breath in.
Focus on how it fills your lungs,
And how your stomach expands,
And then how your stomach flattens as you exhale out.
Consider how your heart is thumping in your chest,
And how it calms as you continue to inhale,
And exhale.
Consider how your muscles feel as they have a chance to fully relax.
As your face settles,
Your shoulders ease down,
Your hands relax,
And your feet find stillness.
Here in this moment,
Continue to breathe,
And bring your attention to your body,
And how each breath changes how you feel.
As you begin to ease your way out of this meditation,
Hold this thought.
What you can control,
Control.
What you can't,
Release.
I know it's tough,
But try.
