
Beautiful Body Image
A positive self-image is not only emotionally healthy, but it’s essential for fitness. As you envision the new you, your body and mind work together to make those changes happen. Please note this meditation uses elements of hypnosis.
Transcript
Michelangelo once said that he saw the angel and the marble and simply carved it until he set it free.
He was working with marble.
Your job is much easier.
You're working with a body that's mostly water and replaces itself cell by cell entirely in just a handful of years.
In fact,
Besides your skeleton,
Most of your body will be made up of brand new cells in the next year.
One of the ways that it does this from moment to moment is when you breathe.
Breathing in life-giving oxygen and breathing out carbon dioxide in old cells.
Now,
To whatever extent is possible,
Close your eyes and unwind as I count down from five to one.
And explore breathing for a moment as five,
Breathing deep into the bottom of your belly and filling your lungs up to your chest.
Notice how much more relaxed you can continue to become with a full breath like this.
Four,
Use your intent and your powerful imagination in a guided way to follow along.
Think of how the rhythm of your breath moves your body and ask,
What's the difference between how you imagine seeing your breath inside your body and how it actually is?
Three,
Realize that you're mostly water and water moves and flows and changes.
Change is possible.
Two,
And when you breathe in,
Your body moves and flows and changes with the breath like blowing a bubble into water in slow motion.
And as you breathe out,
All the tension and stress of the body can move out as well.
And one,
Maybe you can wonder what it is that you truly want to change.
What is it that you want to change about your physical body?
Perhaps you can envision an image of your body appearing right in front of you.
And maybe you can become more aware of this image as you continue to decide what you want to change about your body.
Because by changing this image of your body and changing it in a way that's good and healthy for you,
It's more than possible to convey this image to your inner mind so that it can get to work making everything match,
Making sure everything that needs to happen happens.
You're essentially teaching your mind and your body to be the shape you want it to be,
To be the size you want it to be,
And to be the form that you really want it to be.
In a way,
You're sculpting your body so as this current image of you gets more clear and brighter and more defined and more vividly real,
It's almost as if you can see yourself in this full-length mirror or something similar.
And using your imagination,
How would you change your body in the ways you want to change it?
By actually sculpting the internal image of your body.
Imagine doing this now by beginning at the very top of your head and reaching out with your physical hands to shape and sculpt your face.
Start right around your eyes and then your cheeks and then move down to your chin,
Discarding all that excess and taking all the time to do this right,
Completely changing what you want to change.
Anything that you don't want,
You just discard.
This way,
You're sending a very powerful communication to the skin and muscles so that they can become healthy,
Beautiful,
And glowing.
Everything continually becoming more defined,
More toned.
It's almost as if you're making the actual tissue firmer and tighter.
See what it's like to let your hands move down your neck and sculpt as a sculptor would,
Like an artist working with clay,
Taking away the excess,
Skillfully and passionately and instantly tightening the skin.
And working your way down to the shoulders,
Feel the strength of your arms.
As you apply the artist's touch,
Molding and forming the areas of the shoulders.
Begin with one arm,
Creating the muscle definition of the upper arm,
And move all the way down to your forearm and wrist and hand and even your fingers.
Now go to the other arm and create the same muscle definition,
The same balance,
The same shape,
The same strength,
Sculpting your arm and your hand as if it were soft,
Pliable clay.
Removing the excess,
Removing all the stuff that you no longer want,
Sending these powerful messages to your body that it's okay to release the fat,
Giving your mind permission to make these changes in your body,
Creating a clear internal image of the body that you truly want,
That you desire.
And with this in mind,
You can move around to the back and begin sculpting,
Removing the excess,
Shaping it and moving through to your waist,
Showing your inner mind this new internal image that it now has of your body.
Now go below your waist and let your hands move down and sculpt even lower on your back,
Around the back of your hips,
Making beautiful shapes and the wonderful curves and angles that you truly want and desire.
Use an artist's touch and skillfully shape and sculpt this body.
Now move around to the front,
Just below the neck,
And begin with the chest,
Working with this beautiful,
Healthy skin.
Shape the chest,
Removing any excess,
Give it the perfect tone,
The perfect form,
And let your hands absolutely love this body.
And take the time to add in every detail that you want,
Sending one clear message after another to your inner mind from your skillful,
Passionate hands,
As they change all the parts of your torso.
This is the message that's sent,
Which says,
Make this happen now.
So go down through your abdomen,
Shaping and sculpting all the way down to the front of your waist,
Down to your lower abdomen,
Effortlessly and easily sculpting and shaping,
Making everything strong and toned.
Finish shaping your hips,
And just for a second,
Take a deep breath and look at your work.
Take a look at what you're creating,
The body you're forming and sculpting.
Just look at it now.
Notice how much you've changed already.
Allow your intuition to show you what you want to change next,
What you want to touch up,
So that you can continue changing the image of what your body should be.
Now when you're ready,
Pick one of your legs,
Moving all the way down through your thigh,
Removing the excess,
Shaping and sculpting and making this wonderfully toned leg,
This beautifully shaped leg,
Shaping and sculpting and removing all the excess,
All the way down through your calves,
Ankles,
Feet,
And even to the tips of your toes,
And going all the way back up,
Do the other leg.
Make everything wonderfully toned,
Making sure that in both legs,
The thighs are slender and beautiful.
Your calves are slender and beautiful,
All the way to the tips of your toes,
And make the skin smooth,
So beautiful to the point where the cells in your body listen and respond,
Making changes right this very moment.
And when you're done,
Move all the way up your body and just make sure that everything is absolutely perfect,
Smoothing out any rough areas,
Removing any excess,
Just like it was clay,
Remove anything that you want to get rid of,
Making sure that everything is perfect,
Doing everything that needs to be done,
So that this image is completely acceptable to your inner mind,
So that it can convey this image to every cell in your body.
And when you're done,
Take another mental step back and look at what you've created.
Make sure that this body is the body that you want and deserve,
And realize that the past is the past,
And although that old image may have been something from childhood or a lesser time,
That is now gone.
It's been completely replaced with this absolutely wonderful new image.
So as you look at yourself,
This new you,
You're going to reach out with your hand and blend in with this new body and become one.
So go ahead and reach out now and grab that hand as one,
Two,
Three,
There you go,
All the way into this body,
Becoming one,
This lean,
Stronger new you,
This amazing real you.
Feel yourself inside this body,
Feeling stronger and leaner,
Your mind learning that it's okay to be lean and strong and toned.
See through these new eyes and move around and feel all the changes in you.
Find a new mirror and see how good you look.
Feel how good you look and make this incredibly familiar.
Check yourself out to the point where this just feels right.
This feels like you,
And as your inner mind makes these changes,
Maybe this image is powerful enough for you to help by continuing to eat healthy and exercise and everything else.
Now if all this is continuing to feel more and more natural,
Well,
It's no wonder,
Because this can be the natural state of things now.
This can be who you are,
And this can be your natural body now.
Your inner mind knows this and is continually communicating this to every cell in your body,
Changing your appetite,
Your level of exercise,
Your energy level,
And all the different hormones and chemicals in your body to match this image.
Now in a moment,
You're going to come back to the room feeling incredibly good physically,
Both energized and relaxed,
But only when your inner mind has fully integrated this new image,
As well as all the other concepts.
So enjoy these last few moments of trance as I count from one to five.
So one,
Feel that surface beneath you.
Two,
Starting to wake up a little bit more.
Three,
Move your hands and fingers and toes and feet.
And four,
Open your eyes.
And five,
Focus on the forms,
The shapes,
The colors of the room you're in.
And relax.
Take a deep breath.
Let all of this become integrated into your inner mind,
And go on and enjoy the rest of your day.

This was fascinating. I went into it quite skeptical because I have decades of learning a physical emotional and spiritual path towards a healthier me. But I've been asked to talk about body image today, and so I thought I'd listen. The concept was fascinating, and I found it completely original. I'm glad I tried it. I'm glad I have an open mind.
