Hello friend,
My name is Brenda Carey and I'm going to introduce you a mindfulness practice that I do throughout my day and it's very short.
You can do it at any time during your day whether you're seated,
Standing or lying down.
But when I start to feel scattered,
When I start to notice that my breath is really shallow,
When I start to look for distractions,
Whether that's scrolling through my phone or looking for information outside of myself that I know can really only be answered inwardly with my own intuition.
This is a practice that I do throughout my day and I truly hope that it serves you.
So let's begin by just being right where you are and just stopping and slowing down,
Giving yourself permission to be here now.
So whether you're seated,
Standing or lying down,
I would invite you to deepen your breath and slow it down.
Really feel the lower belly expand on the inhale and soften and relax when you exhale.
And if it's possible,
Either close the eyes down and if that's not possible,
Just begin to soften your gaze and perhaps use the periphery of your vision instead of being intently focused.
And as you feel your breath deepening,
I invite you to place one or both hands on your heart space.
And this is our soul check-in.
I want you to really find your heart beating.
Feel it at the palm of your hand.
Place its perfect rhythm,
A rhythm that you do not have to control and a rhythm that is perfectly designed for you.
This is an acknowledgement that we can trust in our own inner wisdom.
We don't have to force it.
We don't have to control it in any way.
We just lean into it and be fully present with its perfection.
And as you continue with your deep breath and connecting to the perfect rhythm of your own heart beating,
Knowing that you are a walking miracle just as you are.
And then with kindness,
With gentleness,
Ask your higher self,
What do I need in this moment?
Not forcing anything to come,
Just creating the space to allow and receive again.
What do I need in this moment?
What do I need in this moment?
Feel free to say it to yourself or out loud to hear your own voice.
Ask the question again with gentleness and with kindness.
What do I need in this moment?
And if you notice anything that comes in,
Send it gratitude and love.
And if nothing does,
That's okay.
Just being open,
Being present with our soul of compassion and self love.
Namaste.
