Hello and welcome dear friend to this short but impactful breathing practice,
Breath awareness practice.
So settling in to some degree of stillness and allowing your attention to gather and collect around the breath in your body.
Feeling how it invigorates and enlivens,
How it softens and relaxes and soothes.
And I'd like to offer a point of reflection for this practice today which is whose breath is this?
Is it your breath?
Is it my breath?
Are only living beings breathing?
Or is there a collective breath energy that moves through all things?
And that might be worth contemplating.
It's more the possibility of this universal breath energy where all things are breathing,
Even the space that you're in,
The room that you're in.
There's awareness of this body of yours.
Breathing,
Connecting it to the awareness that everything else is breathing too.
It's not a singular activity.
It's unified,
Interconnected to all things seen and unseen.
And if you care to,
For the final few moments of this practice,
You can try counting the breath by choosing a number between one and ten.
Whatever number pops into the mind first,
Don't overthink it.
And then upon the completion of the next breath cycle,
In-breath and out-breath,
And counting one and counting up to that number while experiencing directly the physicality of breathing.
And then once you've arrived at your destination,
Hanging out there,
Hanging out with the breath and delighting there.
And as you go about your day,
Dear friend,
And some encouragement to stay in close proximity with this life force energy that is moving through you and all things that exist on this planet.
It's connecting all things.
And there's something deeply peaceful about that.
We can learn to be in harmony with all things just by the simplicity of being aware of this collected energy and movement.
Thank you for your practice and your presence.
