
Fully Present: Be Here Now

Learn to get into the now when you need it and drop into your highest state of inner transcendence when you want. Not a short-cut to enlightenment but a way to access the levels you have attained.

Let's begin with the breath,
And breathe in,
Back in,
And out,
Back in,
And out,
And continue in that manner for several more breaths as we synchronize not only breathing,
But our thoughts,
Our comfort,
Our peace,
Where we join in a place beyond the physical plane in which we are right now,
Just to be in the same place for a few moments of peace.
And so in this place of continuous awareness and peace,
We just close our eyes and go inside.
And I want you to imagine right now a line in this world,
Everything curves.
This line,
I want you to imagine going from your spine straight down through your hips,
Through your body,
On the space that you are seated,
And going straight down below the floor,
Below the ground,
And allow that line to just continue to travel straight down to the center of the earth.
And it does not tug,
But there is a comfortable tension that holds you nicely in the place that you are.
Feel that capacity to connect with the center.
When you move physically from one place to another,
This line goes with you.
That is why the grounding process is one that we return to.
You may lift your shoulders,
Your head,
Your neck,
Your back slightly as your breath settles back down and realize this line is there.
It is an energetic grounding through the base of your spine.
Notice that the grounding begins really there,
Like the trunk of a tree.
Up here,
The rest of your body,
The other energy zones in your body,
Are free to move,
To express,
To pull,
To push,
What they need for you to express your life.
But that base of your spine is the base,
Is the ground,
And in this moment I would like you to take any tension,
Any energy,
Anything that is not needed in this moment,
And just allow it to flow right out through that line into the earth,
Grounding and settled.
Very comfortable.
Just feel that energy.
Anything you are not needing right now,
Flow out of your body,
And you are now in this place.
You are here.
You are here now.
And now we place our attention on the breath.
We'll breathe in and out,
And we'll do it together.
First now,
In.
Hold it for a moment,
And out very comfortably.
Hold for a moment before breathing in,
And again,
Very comfortable.
Full complete breath.
Feel the air in your lungs.
Hold it for a moment.
Precious air.
And out.
Do it again together.
In,
And back out again,
And then continue in this manner.
We do not breathe enough.
Continue breathing in this way,
For this extra oxygen,
This extra air provides you an openness,
A place of growth,
A place of awareness and connection with yourself.
Just this breathing.
In this life,
Everything is moving.
There is always change around us.
Even in the stillness of your practice,
There is movement.
There is the breath that sustains and provides you the oxygen you need.
And reminding you,
You breathe in,
And you breathe out,
Is not just a physical act,
But very much a spiritual act as well.
Something from your soul that you do in this moment.
So continue in that,
And then allow your breath to return to a normal,
Comfortable breath that's appropriate for you right now.
And next we will draw our attention,
So now your eyes can open.
Place your focus out away from you at a spot that is comfortable for you,
But pick a spot across the way that's just above the horizon,
So your eyes would have to go up a bit,
Just a little bit,
Let's say 10 or 15 degrees above the horizon.
Pick that spot,
Allow your awareness to focus there,
And not a laser focus,
But just a gentle noticing that one location,
And just stay with that for a moment.
Continuing to breathe,
And then allow your focus to expand.
Just watch and notice that to the left and to the right,
Without moving your eyes,
Your awareness can expand out,
Away,
Left and right,
All the way.
You can notice things to your left and to your right,
Awareness of light and dark,
Objects,
Things in your space.
In fact,
This could continue all the way behind you,
Awareness in this place.
You know what is there,
But let your awareness inform you of everything around you all the way.
Very good,
Now bring your awareness back,
Not to the point,
But just to a gentle,
Large,
Broad,
Comfortable,
Aware of everything in this moment,
Anything arising in this moment.
If you were to hear a sound or be motion or movement,
You would notice it,
Just comfortably aware,
And at the same time you have access inside,
Inside to everything that you need.
That same awareness is just a metaphor,
Just a physical metaphor for an interior truth of access and gentle awareness of everything arising in this moment.
And now,
And now we begin.
Having made those preparations,
You have access now to enter into what you need most right now,
An awareness that as you move about your day,
The next activities,
Just a little while when we're done,
Those activities have a certain energetic quality about them.
They require your attention,
Your presence,
Your awareness,
And what you will notice is that your awareness from this place,
You maintain this level of awareness,
Gentle,
Comfortable,
Arm's length,
And very present awareness for the need of the moment.
If there are people who are under your care,
Or those with whom you work or play or provide service or any activity,
You can see yourself fully present in your body,
All of your senses providing you what you need visual,
The sounds,
The touch that would be required to be present in that moment and be comfortable.
There is not a laser focus because you broadened and expanded that awareness,
And that allows you to be so present.
And in the same way,
You have access to the inner wisdom you need,
What to say,
What fun thing to note,
To point out,
What questions are important,
What activity,
Physically moving things in your world to fulfill the purpose appropriate for the moment.
It's very comfortable and very easy.
You have available to you the words,
The right words,
The comfortable,
Confident access to the wisdom that's inside of you,
Able to say the thing that's needed at the moment.
And also,
When it's appropriate,
The thought may occur and you'll have time to recognize that no comment is required on your part.
The silence is sufficient.
There is a knowing and not everything we know do we need to express.
One of the great joys is allowing others to discover.
There are times when it's simply the moment to let them discover,
And that is available to you as well.
It's what it feels like to be fully present.
Think of the feeling as I bring up several anchors,
Several moments that you can use to anchor this kind of feeling of being fully present.
I would like you to choose for yourself something physical you can do to anchor and remind yourself,
I am here now,
I am here now.
All of the things that I've said so far will fall into this anchor.
So choose something like a thumb and a ring finger that you don't normally press and hold together in that specific way,
Or another spot on your body that you could touch and provide a little firm reminder.
So choose that,
And then anchor these feelings.
Anchor these feelings,
Present at the time when you received a gift from another person who gave it to you.
They gave you a gift,
And before you've even opened it,
You just acknowledge and receive,
I'm receiving a gift.
Somebody went out and purchased something and chose something specifically for me.
Just that feeling,
Confirming the truth that you've heard,
That it's more blessed to give than to receive,
And in this moment you get to remember how beautiful and wonderful it was for them to give,
And you received.
Anchor that,
Anchor that feeling.
Also anchor the feeling that arises when you have a moment of complete awareness on a good day.
You wake up,
There's clarity,
There's connection,
You're in the right place,
The right time to experience the best.
You feel like,
I'm on the mountaintop today,
It feels so good,
I see things,
I see so clearly,
I know what to do.
That feeling,
Anchor that feeling.
Press that anchor,
Let that feeling rise up in you,
And let it go.
Very good.
Those two anchors together,
Those two.
Allow your awareness to just gently relax.
Your eyes could be open or closed,
It really doesn't matter.
Whatever's most comfortable for you in this moment.
Did you notice your breath right there?
Still breathing?
Wasn't it a miracle?
Your body takes care of you,
Providing that,
Without you thinking about it.
And now let's bring that anchor back up.
Go ahead and just fire off that anchor.
Hold those fingers or that spot on your body,
And notice that good feeling that comes back of receiving,
Of being fully present and awake and aware,
How good that feels.
Let go.
There's these practices of mind and body.
We use those terms like they're separate things,
They're not.
We are one thing.
But we use those labels to just draw distinction,
So we can have something to point our awareness at.
And it is these kind of practices that allow you to recognize you are running your body,
You're running your mind,
And it's a gentle and wonderful thing.
So now,
Return again and fire off that anchor,
Trigger that anchor,
Hold it,
And feel the feeling of giving and receiving,
How wonderful it is,
And to be present on your mountaintop awareness and fully present in anything that you're going to do.
That's what it means to be fully present.
It's a gift.
You give it to others,
And they give it to you.
When you model this for other people,
Fully present,
I am here with you right now.
I am here.
You have my full attention.
I'm not somewhere else.
I'm right here with you.
I'm with you.
And if it's work,
Or it's play,
Or it's family time,
No matter what it is,
You be fully present.
Such a gift.
When you give that to others,
It's the best feeling in the world,
How good it is.
That's what it feels like.
Bring your awareness back now to the center,
And just comfortably hold this space,
And we're going to draw a distinction between that kind of awareness,
Which is required and wonderful and present,
And allow you to be fully in the space of your life,
That gift you give to others.
That's what that looks like.
Notice that back to the center,
Where you're just comfortably inside,
You can go anywhere you need to go.
You have access also to a very special place,
The higher place,
A higher realm.
You know what that feels like.
Inside your mind right now,
With your eyes closed,
Go ahead and allow your awareness to go to that place,
High or deep.
Is it inside?
Is it outside?
Those are simple metaphors.
They're just physical metaphors.
There is no in or out or up or down from this place,
But you know what it is.
Go there now.
Go to that high place,
Where you have access to everything that's available.
Messages from on high,
Insight from your higher self,
Again,
These are just words,
So you know what that language would be correct for you,
That feeling,
And allow,
Just notice it.
Don't do anything with it.
Just notice the openness,
The capacity to hear.
Did you notice that it's there all the time,
All the time,
A continuous flow of well-being available to you now and in every moment?
It doesn't stop.
It is only your awareness to it.
When you place your attention there,
There it is.
That's something you can open,
And you don't really shut it down,
But your awareness goes somewhere else,
And that's all.
So bring your awareness back out of that high state of complete connected awareness,
And just back to the center,
And just hold for a moment.
Notice your breathing.
Did you remember that you were breathing this whole time,
Your body sustaining and helping you?
Is that kind of grounded in this moment,
Just there?
That's what it means to experience mindful,
Mindful,
And wonderful,
Mindless awareness,
Activity.
You can do that as well.
Please choose for yourself an anchor,
Something that you could do with your physical body,
Perhaps something you haven't used before.
Maybe it's the other hand on your chest saying,
I am here now,
And I'm going inside.
I'm going up.
I'm going deeper.
You choose that anchor.
Just choose it,
And we'll return to that high place,
To hear,
To know,
And to activate the higher self.
Ready?
Bring your awareness to that place inside where you are connected.
Feel connection,
Whole,
Complete,
And perfect.
That's a unified place.
Hold there for a moment.
Feel how good that is.
Go ahead and use that anchor.
Go ahead and anchor that with your body.
Feel it,
And hold that anchor,
Setting it in your mind.
You know what this means.
Go there now.
Yes,
I want to be in this place.
Let go of the anchor.
Just stay in that for a moment.
There you go.
That's a unified place.
Hold there for a moment.
Feel how good that is.
Go ahead and use that anchor.
Go ahead and anchor that with your body.
Feel it,
And hold that anchor,
Setting it in your mind.
You know what this means.
Go there now.
Yes,
I want to be in this place.
Let go of the anchor.
Just stay in that for a moment.
There you go.
There you go.
Your awareness is back to just normal awareness,
Access to all that is,
The place that you are,
How wonderful that is.
The available time for you.
You can do this so quickly.
Right now,
We're taking a minute to do it,
But you'll be able to do it in an instant when you'd like.
So let's practice.
I'd like you to place your awareness on being in that high place,
The high place.
Let's just fire that anchor,
Place your hand in the way that you chose,
And go to that place where everything is possible.
You can hear the messages.
You can hear the flow.
What you will do with it is according to the need of the moment.
Perhaps you will write.
Perhaps you will speak.
Perhaps you will flow well-being to others.
You know what to do.
You know how to do it,
And you know how to access that.
Good.
Just go back to the center.
Notice that you have always been here,
Still here,
Still grounded to the earth,
Still breathing,
And bring your awareness.
Fire off the anchor for wholly,
Completely present in the moment that you are.
What will you do?
What will you say?
Who are you with?
Notice physically in that environment,
With your eyes open,
Your wholeness and your awareness of that physical place,
How wonderful it is.
You have this ability.
You have this ability to shift,
Be fully present,
And when you need,
And it's the right time,
To go inside and access that high and mighty place,
The flow.
And here's what I will say as we conclude.
Not only do you have the awareness of the distinction,
The difference between these,
The way they feel,
You know how to get to one or the other,
The way we indicated,
And you can practice this in the coming hours and days,
I would like you to pause in this moment and fire both anchors simultaneously.
You can be,
In this moment,
Fully aware,
Fully present,
And accessing the best of you,
The higher self,
In this time.
You can fire both and be there.
And when you're ready,
Take a breath,
Come back to ordinary awareness,
And go about your day,
And know that all is well,
All is well.
