Slumber Radio is a two-hour sleep program inspired by the late-night sound of small-town radio in the 1980s — the kind that played softly in the background while you drifted off. Those stations used to keep quiet company through the overnight hours. These days, that sort of radio is hard to find, crowded out by stressful news and loud stimulation. Slumber Radio was created as a return to that slower, steadier pace.
This second collection, Slumber Radio Volume 2: The Night Walk, takes place over three consecutive winter nights in mid-February 1985, as the fictional mountain town of Low Beacon prepares for its most beloved late-winter tradition: the annual Shaker’s Mountain Night Walk. Each episode builds toward the event itself, giving listeners something to look forward to as the nights unfold.
Like the first set, each episode is a fully scripted, immersive radio broadcast set in Low Beacon and hosted by local DJ Tyler Rowe (played by Brian Saint-Paul). The show blends low-key community news, gentle stories, mock commercials, local history, and slow, relaxing music — all paced deliberately to help you unwind and fall asleep. The music includes soft instrumental lofi, ambient compositions, classical pieces, and warm vintage country, with subtle Delta binaural tones layered throughout to support deep rest.
The final episode is broadcast live from the top of Shaker’s Mountain during the Night Walk itself, placing listeners right in the middle of the event — surrounded by lantern light, quiet voices, live music, and the warm feeling of a shared winter night.
You don’t need to have listened to the first Slumber Radio collection to enjoy this one. Volume 2 stands on its own, welcoming new listeners while deepening the world for returning ones. Low Beacon is full of familiar characters, small traditions, and local lore, but everything moves slowly here. Whether you're listening in bed, on the couch, or from the passenger seat of a car during a long ride at night, Slumber Radio is meant to ease you into rest.
Just press play, settle in, and let the little town of Low Beacon carry you to sleep.
Note: All the people, places, and businesses mentioned are fictitious, and all characters were created and voiced by Brian, Zoe, Selam, and Hymanot Saint-Paul. In places, we used software voice masking to allow us to play different characters.
