During this breath practice,

I will guide us through two minutes of Ujjayi breath,

Referred to as ocean breath.

This breath is soothing for the nervous system,

Calms the mind,

And slows the heart rate.

It is a tranquilizing breath,

So use this when you need to feel a sense of peace and calm.

Closing the eyes down here,

Finding a comfortable seat,

Or you can do this lying down.

And before you practice with me,

Listen to my description.

Slowly through the nose,

Constricting the back of the throat.

We breathe in through our nose,

Exhale through the nose.

On the inhale,

We fill the belly in like a balloon.

Gentle hold at the top,

And exhale all the way down.

It's important to note here that we want to extend the exhale as much as we can to receive the full benefits of the practice.

Exhale through the nose,

Exhale all the way down.

Exhale all the way down.

Breathing in,

Releasing.

Last little bit here,

Breathe,

Fill the belly.

Releasing the breath,

Coming back to center,

Noticing the sense of calm and peace over the mind and body.
