Life is totally full of difficulties. We all experience them, no matter who we are - mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, business owners, doctors, lawyers. No one is immune to the difficulties of life. But it's not about the difficulties as we perceive, but how we respond to them. This practice is a guidance on how to tread thru life with more calm and ease.

Gently close your eyes and let the past and future go for just these few minutes.

Take a deep long breath and relax your whole body.

Life is totally full of difficulties.

We all experience them no matter who we are.

Parents,

Fathers,

Sons,

Daughters,

Business owners,

Doctors,

Lawyers,

No one is immune to these difficulties of life.

According to the teaching of the Buddha,

The world exists based upon problems.

The cycle of life keeps working because of problems and solutions.

The first step to peace is recognizing that the problem will always come and go.

When you are sailing a boat in the ocean,

You have to be skillful to not get water into the boat.

Water is healthy and wonderful and beautiful,

But if you get water into a boat,

You sink.

Problems work the same way,

It doesn't matter where you are,

Problems always exist.

The only solution is to handle the problems differently.

Live your life,

Enjoy the water,

Enjoy sailing,

Just keep the water out of the boat,

Otherwise this world is a very ugly place for us.

To keep sailing,

To live with sustaining peace,

First think always what is the true nature of my existence.

Second,

Tell the truth,

Be truthful.

Third,

Express your feelings mindfully and lovingly,

Not emotionally.

Fourth,

Maybe the most important,

Find a noble community,

Sangha,

Noble friendship.

Take another long deep breath and when you are ready,

Gently open your eyes.

May you be well,

May you be happy,

May you be peaceful,

Choose loving kindness.

I enjoy just listening to these light but powerful messages. It’s a reminder that life is not a struggle unless we make it one.
