Hello.
Peace to you.
Peace to your spirit.
Your heart.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Welcome to a hit of hope.
Winter in cold climes can be long,
Dark,
And lonely.
So much life disappears from leaves and flowers to birds and butterflies.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Winter in cold climes can take a toll physically,
Emotionally,
Spiritually,
And thus it can be easy to frame winter as something to endure.
A time of emptiness,
Lack,
The condition of being without.
Inhale.
Exhale.
The season of winter could also be considered a time of dormancy,
A season of rest,
A pregnant pause.
And in that pregnant pause,
We can choose to live wild,
Which in this case is to honor the season,
Whatever it may be.
Inhale.
Exhale.
To honor the season and live wild might mean to snuggle in,
To yield,
Nourishing the quiet,
Feeding it so that we are rested and healthy,
Ready for whatever comes next.
Because we never know.
We never know what is on its way.
Inhale.
Exhale.
When we find ourselves in a season of quiet and darkness,
May we live wild.
May we take it as a sign to rest,
To nourish,
To see the stillness as a necessary ingredient to growth.
When we find ourselves in a season of quiet and darkness,
May we sit,
Breathe,
Center in our center,
Feeding the life there,
Letting it become strong,
Ready.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Then when it is a new season,
May we become like a gardener who pulls out the seed catalog while there is still snow on the ground.
When we pause,
Rest,
And nourish,
We can be good and grounded and intentional about what it is we want to plant,
Cultivate,
Nourish,
Grow.
Inhale.
Exhale.
We never know what life might hand us next.
To live wild is to trust the seasons.
We need darkness and quiet just as much as we need activity and light.
To live wild is to trust the season,
Whatever it is,
To do the good work,
The necessary work that we need.
Sometimes that might be to yield and soften.
Sometimes it might be to reach and grow.
Inhale.
Exhale.
To live wild is to trust the season.
And then when it is time,
You might be able to gather the seeds and ready yourself for growth,
Which is to say to ready yourself for change.
Patiently,
Intentionally,
Consider the activity of sowing the seeds.
Broadcast near and wide the beautiful.
You never know what will grow where.
Inhale.
Exhale.
To live wild is to root yourself in the best soil you can find.
And then get ready to nourish,
To gather,
To change,
Reach,
Blossom,
And grow.
Live light.
