Inner child meditation,

Wherever you are sitting,

Lying down,

Just taking this moment to close your eyes and coming into giving yourself some moments to connect to the child within,

Facing the protectors that stand at the gate,

The ones that were created to keep this child safe,

Just asking them to step aside for this moment.

Step aside so that you can connect deeply to the one who desperately needs you.

And as you're breathing in and out and noticing your breath in and out,

Start to unclench your jaw and slide your shoulders down into your back pockets.

Let your hands and your feet be soft and soften your belly and allow your legs to be heavy and melt into this deep state of release.

Feel your body here and now,

Warm,

Relaxed,

Released,

Soft.

See yourself now.

See yourself in your mind's eye when you were small,

When you were a little child.

Just see if you can bring a picture into your mind's eye.

Really look at yourself.

Look at your eyes,

Look at your hair,

Look at your face,

Look at your body.

Notice where you are,

Notice your expression.

Take it all in.

This vision of your inner child.

Just be with your inner child for a few moments.

All of that sadness,

Pain,

Hurt,

And fear is present and you let that in,

You let that in.

You see this incredible little being filled with the trauma,

Filled with childhood,

A childhood that sometimes was not safe and was not secure.

Sometimes people that you loved hurt you and hurt this child and your child then protected,

Protected and created stories.

I'm not good enough.

I'm not worthy.

I'll never get it right.

No matter how hard I try,

It's not good enough.

I can't trust people.

I can't have what I want.

I can't be who I want.

These stories created allowing you to live,

Allowing you to get to this moment in time.

So take a big deep breath in and exhale,

Releasing the heaviness of these stories.

These protective stories.

And if you can,

Reach out,

Reach out to this inner child.

Embrace this child.

Hold this child close.

Feel the love that is needed that you can give.

And just sitting,

You and your child holding one another now,

Integrating,

Being one.

And as we can sit,

Continue to sit and breathe together.

And you just allow this moment to be what it is.

Realizing the melting and the merging as two become one again.

Continue promising to listen to this child,

To provide for this child whenever the child arises,

Whenever fear and sadness and hurt,

Worry,

Anxiety,

Whenever those bad voices begin again in your head,

Come back to this moment.

Grab tight to that child.

Allow there to be emerging a safety,

A love,

A sense of wholeness,

Completeness,

Worth,

Goodness and grace.
