But your body still feels tanned.

Your shoulders are tight.

Your jaw is clenched.

Your mind is racing.

And no matter how much you tell yourself to relax,

Your body doesn't seem to listen.

That's why you need nervous system regulation.

And I am a psychologist.

In this video,

I want to share what nervous system regulation really is.

And what it's not.

One of the biggest myths about nervous system regulation is that It's about being calm all the time.

It isn't.

Nervous system regulation is simply helping your body feel safe enough to return back to balance.

Let's try a tiny experiment.

Take a slow look around the room.

Notice three things you can see.

Maybe the colors around you.

Or the light.

Now notice.

The support beneath you.

And that's it.

You weren't forcing yourself to be calm.

You were simply giving your nervous system the information that saves.

I am here.

I am safe in this moment.

And that's regulation.

Not forcing calm but creating the conditions.
