Even after a nightmare ends, your body can still feel like it's happening. This 5-minute nightmare meditation uses Imagery Rehearsal Therapy (IRT) to help your mind rewrite the ending of a frightening dream, replacing fear with safety, calm & peace, so you can gently return to sleep. Listen lying comfortably with your eyes closed. Many people notice the fear soften, the body settle, and a greater sense of safety return as the nightmare begins to lose its emotional intensity. Use this for recurring dreams, to relax after a nightmare, for nighttime anxiety, or whenever you wake up after a bad dream feeling anxious or frightened & you need help relaxing so you can fall asleep. Over time, with regular practice, your brain can learn to respond to nightmares with less fear, helping sleep feel safer and more peaceful again. Music used with gratitude by Matt Moore Zzyzx
