We can learn a lot from mountains.

Mountains stand tall and strong and remain calm and peaceful even through the biggest storms.

Let's find out what it's like to be a mountain.

So get yourself nice and comfortable and gently close your eyes.

Now imagine yourself as a mountain.

It could be a mountain from a picture,

One you've seen or one you've made up in your head.

Imagine that your head is the peak of the mountain,

Your arms are the sloping sides and the base of you is the base of the mountain where there are trees,

Plants,

Rocks and maybe a few little animals too.

There could be streams running down your mountain into valleys and rivers.

There might be snow on the peak.

Now I think you need to grow your mountain a little bit more as it could be a bit bigger.

So take a deep breath in and as you breathe in your mountain grows,

Rising up,

Up,

Up into the sky above.

And as you breathe out your mountain relaxes into the ground,

Feeling safe,

Strong and grounded.

Hmm,

I think your mountain could still be a little bit bigger.

So breathing in again and letting your mountain grow up,

Up,

Up into the sky above.

And breathing out and your mountain relaxes into the ground.

Yep,

I think your mountain looks just about right.

Now the seasons begin to change on your mountain.

Autumn comes and the leaves on your trees change colour to rust and gold.

It gets a little colder on your mountain but your mountain just sits peacefully.

And then winter comes and the trees become bare and the rain begins to fall.

But your mountain doesn't mind,

It just sits peacefully.

Now a storm begins.

Rain and wind crash into your mountain stirring up the plants and trees on its surface.

But your mountain just sits peacefully and smiles.

Finally spring arrives.

Phew,

And there's new green growth.

The trees begin to blossom and your mountain comes alive with life.

Slowly the sun goes down and night falls on a crystal clear sky.

And stars dance and sparkle like magic diamonds.

And the moon casts its silver light over your mountain.

There's a sense of calm and quiet in the air on this starry night.

And all the while your mountain just sits peacefully enjoying the stillness and quiet of the night.

And now day begins to break on your mountain and summer begins and the sun comes up and shines its warm golden light over your mountain as it bursts into vibrant colours.

And flowers appear on your mountain surrounded by a beautiful blue sky.

You can hear bees buzzing and butterflies fluttering from flower to flower.

And your mountain just sits happy and content,

Enjoying the warmth of the golden sunlight.

Knowing that all kinds of weather might come but your mountain has a strong base and can sit tall and dignified,

Whatever comes its way.

And now day begins to break on your mountain and summer begins and the sun comes up and shines its warm golden light over your mountain as it bursts into vibrant colours.

And all the while your mountain just sits happily and comfortably over your mountain as it bursts into vibrant colours.

And now day begins to break on your mountain and summer begins and the sun comes up and shines its warm golden light over your mountain as it bursts into vibrant colours.

And now taking a deep breath in,

Breathing out and letting your mountain shrink back down again.

You might even want to make it so small that it will fit in your pocket so you can take it wherever you go.

If you ever feel a little bit wobbly,

Remember your mountain is always there for you and you too can be like a mountain,

Strong,

Grounded and peaceful,

Even in the strongest storms.

Now we're going to end our meditation so you can gently open your eyes,

Give your arms and hands a little shake and give a little smile if you want to.
