This is Andrew Johnson.
Sit down or lie down and make yourself comfortable.
Relax.
Close your eyes and become aware of your breathing.
Become aware of the air as you breathe it in and as you breathe it out.
Notice the difference in temperature of the air as it comes in and as it goes out.
Just think now about relaxing every muscle in your body from the top of your head to the tips of your toes.
You may soon begin to notice how very comfortable your body is feeling.
So you can just let go and relax.
You may be aware of normal sounds around you.
These sounds are unimportant,
So you can just disregard them.
Whatever you hear from now on will only help to relax you.
Begin now to let all the muscles in your face relax.
Especially your jaw.
Let your teeth part just a little bit and let your tongue relax.
Allow that relaxation to move into your temples and relax the muscles in this part of your head.
And as you think about relaxing these muscles,
So they will relax.
Feel them relax.
And as you relax,
You will be able to drift and float into a deeper and deeper level of total relaxation.
Continue to relax now and let all the muscles in your forehead relax.
Feel those muscles smooth.
Smooth and relaxed.
And rest your eyes now.
Imagining your eyelids feeling so comfortable.
So heavy.
So relaxed.
And now let all of the muscles in the back of your neck and shoulders relax.
Imagine the warmth of the sun shining down on this area of your body.
And warming up the muscles.
Warming up your neck and shoulder muscles.
And if there is any unnecessary tension in this part of your body,
As the muscles get warmer and warmer.
So the tension and stress just melt away.
Melt away.
And feel that soothing warm relaxation go down your back.
Down.
Down to the lower part of your back.
And all these muscles let go as they get warmer and warmer.
And with every breath that you take,
Just feel your body drifting.
Floating down deeper.
Down deeper.
Deeper into total relaxation.
Let all your muscles go.
Relaxing more and more.
And feel the warm relaxation flow from your shoulders down your arms.
Resting all the way down through your elbows.
Down through your wrists.
Your hands.
And all the way right down to your fingertips.
And your arms feel so heavy.
So comfortable.
So relaxed.
And you may feel that you can barely lift your arms.
They're so relaxed.
So heavy.
So heavy.
So relaxed.
And as you inhale once again,
Allow your chest muscles to relax.
And as you exhale,
Feel your stomach relax.
As you breathe freely and easily.
Relax all of the muscles in your stomach.
Let them go.
Let them go.
Let them relax.
And allow the warm relaxation to flow down.
Down.
Down into your waist.
And all the way down into your legs.
Let your leg muscles relax.
All the way down.
Down.
Down.
Right down to the tips of your toes.
And notice how very comfortable your body feels.
Just drifting and floating.
Deeper.
Deeper.
And deeper down.
And as you're relaxing deeper and deeper,
Imagine a beautiful staircase.
There are ten steps down.
And the steps lead you to a special and beautiful and peaceful place.
In a few moments time,
You can begin to imagine taking a safe and gentle and easy step down on the staircase.
Which will lead you to a very safe and special place.
You can imagine it to be any place you like.
It could be a place you know well.
Or it could be a place you have only dreamt of.
It doesn't matter where it is as long as you feel safe and comfortable there.
The important thing is that you feel safe and comfortable.
In a moment I'm going to count down from ten to one.
And you can imagine taking the steps down.
And as you take each step,
Feel your body relax more and more.
Feel it just drift down.
Down each step.
Relaxing even deeper.
So if you're ready now.
Let's take that first step down.
Ten.
And relaxing even deeper.
Nine.
Deeper and deeper.
Eight.
Slowly walking down.
Seven.
Drifting.
Six.
Becoming ever more relaxed.
Five.
Four.
Three.
And deeper.
Two.
One.
Deeper and deeper relaxed.
And now you feel yourself in your own special and safe place.
This is the most peaceful place in the world for you.
Imagine yourself there.
And feel a sense of peace flow through you.
Now in your imagination draw a wide circle of pure white light all around you.
This is your circle of protection and no one can enter your circle without your permission.
This is your very own private sanctuary.
You are completely safe and divinely protected.
If you're willing now extend an invitation to your inner child to enter your private sanctuary.
Let your child appear however your child wants to be.
At whatever age your child chooses to be.
Notice what your child is wearing.
The expression on your child's face.
Notice how your child is feeling.
Invite your child to come closer.
Ask what they would like from you right now.
Take some time now in silence to communicate with your inner child.
Arrive in silence,
Punching your past and around you.
You You You You You You You If you have not already done so You invite your inner child to come and sit on your lap Look into your child's little face Notice the expression in your child's eyes Tell your child that you love it very much Tell your child how sorry you are that you have not always been there for it in the past Tell your child how sorry you are that you have not always been there for it in the past Promise your child that you will take care of it from now on That you will listen to your inner child That you will make time for your inner child Tell your child how important it is in your life Tell your child that you love it just the way it is Now ask your child if it's willing to come home with you If not,
Tell your inner child that you will visit it again soon Arrange a time for your next meeting And commit to that time If your child is willing to go home with you Take it in your arms And imagine that it's getting smaller and smaller Smaller and smaller until your inner child is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand Promise your child that you will spend some time with it each and every day That you will be able to get along with it Promise your child that you will spend some time with it each day Arrange an exact time and commit to it Now very gently place your inner child into your heart space Place your inner child into your heart space Where it will always be loved and safe Now become aware of a divine and loving presence behind you Be aware that this is the presence of truth,
Beauty,
Goodness and unconditional love This is your higher self who loves you beyond your wildest dreams Feel yourself being enfolded in divine and loving arms Allow your whole being to be infused with this divine and loving energy Take some time now to bathe in this unconditional love This is your higher self who loves you beyond your wildest dreams And know that you can come back to this place whenever you choose.
And know too that your higher self is always with you.
Enjoy your special place for another moment.
And then I will begin to count up from one to ten.
And you can begin to come back to full,
Awakened consciousness.
You will come back feeling refreshed.
As if you've had a long rest.
All parts of your body will be back to their normal weight and temperature and feeling and energy.
Every part of you back in the present.
And you awaken feeling alert and relaxed and refreshed.
Feel ready.
