This is a short and simple three-step process that you can use anytime you'd like to get grounded and connect in with yourself. Whether you want to decrease stress and tension, or simply tune in with your body, mind, and heart, this mini-meditation can help.

So make sure your body is as comfortable as possible.

If you'd like,

You can close your eyes and begin to focus on your breathing,

Simply following your breath at its natural pace.

Now let's take a moment to scan through your body with neutral awareness.

Just notice whatever's there when you check in with your body.

There might be sensations,

There might be tightness,

There might be neutral places just scanning through your body.

And I'd like you to imagine that your body could express itself in a word,

A sentence,

A sound,

Or an image.

How would your body express itself right now?

Just go with whatever comes up.

And now let's shift our attention to your mind.

Simply notice how it feels in your mind right now.

It might feel very busy with thoughts,

Moderately busy,

Fairly quiet,

Or very quiet.

There's no right or wrong.

Just check in with the climate of your mind right now.

And now imagine that your mind could express itself in a word,

A sentence,

A sound,

Or an image.

What would that be?

Try to welcome up whatever comes.

Good.

And finally,

Let's bring our attention to your heart.

Tune into your heart.

You can even place a hand on your heart if you'd like.

And imagine that your heart could express itself in a word,

A sentence,

A sound,

Or an image.

What would that be?

Try to welcome up whatever comes.

Good.

Now returning your attention to your breathing,

Following a few breaths all the way through.

And becoming aware of the surroundings around you,

Any sounds you hear,

Any surfaces you're touching.

And if you'd like,

You can give your body a little stretch as you prepare to transition into the next part of your day.
