Welcome to this meditation on finding balance within.
Together we'll take a moment here in between your day.
In between meetings or appointments or any obligations to find your center again.
And we'll do this by practicing alternate nostril breathing.
This as an ancient technique dad.
Activates both hemispheres of the brain.
It literally brings back balance in the body and the mind.
At the same time,
Because we are focusing on breathing in through one side,
Breathing out through the other side,
Your brain has something to focus on.
Will shift from focusing on your thoughts and your mind,
From noticing the breath,
To Feeling the breath.
And sinking into genuine presence.
So I invite you here to get yourself in a very comfortable position.
You can choose to sit or lay down,
Or get into any position that feels restorative and comfortable for you.
And once you've set yourself up for comfort I invite you to gently close your eyes and enter in your own space within.
Notice the different sensations in the body.
See if you can welcome whatever is present for you.
If you can witness your own experience through a lens of compassion.
Allow any tension to dissolve.
To let itself go.
And bring your awareness completely to your breath.
You can find your breath at your nose,
At your nostrils.
Allow your lips to be sealed and see if you can lean in towards breathing in and out through the nose.
From here on out.
From here on out.
Notice your breath as it enters in through both nostrils.
And leaves through both nostrils.
This is a restorative practice and we'll practice alternate nostril breathing simply with our attention.
You can keep your hands and your arms resting besides you.
Let's begin the practice.
Inhale through your left nostril.
Exhale through your right nostril.
Inhale through your right nostril.
Exhale through your left ear.
Inhale left,
Up until your third eye.
From your third eye,
Out through your right nostril.
Breathe in,
Right nostril,
And to leave your third eye.
Exhale,
Let the breath trickle down from your third eye out through your left nostril.
In left.
Out right.
In right third eye.
Out left.
Continue breathing in your own pace.
From your nostril to your third eye.
From your third eye out through the other nostril.
Now release alternate nostril breathing.
Inhale through both nostrils.
And exhale through both.
Take a soft,
Deep breath in.
And fully exhale.
Emptying the belly of any air.
Allow your breath to find its natural rhythm.
Shift your attention back to the sensations in your body.
Notice how this shift made you feel.
Cultivate gratitude for yourself for showing up.
And taking a moment of self-care Thank you so much for tuning in with me.
Whenever you are ready,
Gently open your eyes and come back into the space that you're in.
