Welcome to this healing meditation designed to help you release intense emotional trauma gently.
This short but powerful meditation works by activating your parasympathetic nervous system.
We will create a state of calm that allows your brain to process once again difficult experiences with great ease and recode the emotion you had associated with the event.
This process can be used for money issues,
Difficult relationships with family,
Friends and lovers,
Mental and physical abuse,
And any situation that brought you pain in the past.
Remember,
This meditation is designed to be gentle and safe.
Clearing traumas can lead to improved emotional regulation,
Better relationships,
Reduced anxiety,
And a great sense of overall well-being.
First,
Bring an incident or a person to mind,
Take up the challenge you still carry an emotional charge.
On a scale from 1 to 10,
What is the emotional charge?
One that is no intensity at all,
And 10 is very painful.
Find that level.
I invite you to close your eyes.
Bring to mind the event or the person.
Bring the memory to mind.
Now I want you to freeze frame the incident in one picture.
Imagine taking a Polaroid of the event,
One frame.
See yourself from the outside looking at the picture from a distance.
Put a frame around the photograph.
You can use any frame you use in a photo.
It could be one of those frames the kids do in school,
Like a macaroni or popsicle stick or seashells.
Just put a frame in the picture.
When you begin to frame the picture,
We begin to frame the experience.
It creates boundaries,
So you can step outside of it and build strong boundaries with that event.
Move the picture further away from you,
But you still can see it with the frame.
Now drain all the color out of the picture to make it black and white.
This will allow you to drain the emotions from that experience.
We're going to do a few more things to allow your brain to reset the emotions from that experience.
I would like for you to give a small light to the picture.
Change the light.
You could give it a little pink in the corner or a little green.
Or maybe the reflection of a disco ball.
These small changes make the brain reconsider the things about the event.
Is it something we can release?
Do I need to worry about this?
The goal is to have your brain reconsider that event in this present moment.
Now give the picture another color.
You can make it a fun effect.
It could be a zebra type of coloring.
Now push the picture a little bit further away from you,
But that you still can see it from the distance.
As you move the picture away,
It makes it easier for you to distance yourself from that experience.
Now turn the pictures upside down so the top becomes the bottom and the bottom becomes the top.
Sometimes the brain may get a little bit disoriented to see the people in the picture upside down.
Now flip the picture sideways and then change the design of the photo and turn into a line drawing or animations.
This changes the way you see this incident.
The last thing we'll do to the picture is to make it much,
Much,
Much smaller.
Make it small enough that you can still see it and keep pushing the picture further away.
This exercise causes your parasympathetic system to release the emotions,
Become relaxed and feel at easy with the event.
Now check yourself on the emotional charge of the person or event.
On a scale from 1 to 10,
How much charge does this incident still have on you?
Chances are that you move significantly down the scale.
If it is not a 2 or 1 or even a 0,
Wait about 5 minutes,
Get up,
Move a little to reset your brain and do this exercise again.
You may want to use the same person but in a different event.
You will know that you will progressively feel good and becomes easier and easier to relate to them in the event.
One great thing about this exercise is that you can do it at any time,
Anywhere,
Unless you are driving.
