Hello everyone.

Welcome to Embrace Your Success series,

Where I will share with you knowledge and insights that will inspire you to improve the overall quality of your life.

Today,

I will share with you seven practical actions you can take during the day to access your best self.

In this short talk,

You will learn how to access the better version of you that has always existed within you regardless of the environment you are in.

When you feel better,

You gain the courage to live the life you plan to live.

Grab a pen and a notebook to make your own notes.

People retain only 60% of what they learn within 24 hours and only 20% within a week.

You know the drill.

Let's silence your cell phone.

Close your email browser for 10 minutes.

This is your time.

Give yourself 10 minutes to improve the quality of your life.

So,

Why do you want to bring your best self forward?

Well,

We all have the ability for greatness.

It exists inside of all of us.

However,

From time to time,

We allow our environment to hijack our emotions.

Our thoughts about the people,

Events,

And circumstances cause us to go into a fight or flight mode so we can manage stress.

That's biology.

When our body and mind is managing stress,

Our ability to think,

Feel,

And be well is diminished.

That's when we take action outside our morals,

Values,

And intentions.

Have you gone on a retreat or long relaxing vacation and within a few hours of returning home,

You were your old,

Stressed self again?

Or have you spent time meditating or praying and felt great until you were triggered by a person,

The news,

Or an event?

You went from feeling great to awful in less than one minute.

Have you ever arrived at work or home and experienced a mood change that made you want to go back to bed?

If you answered yes to any or all of these questions,

Then this short talk is meant for you.

Before you continue,

Let me tell you a little bit about myself.

I am Ana Barreto,

Author of the book Women,

Rice,

And Beans,

Nine Wisdoms I Learned from My Mother When I Really Paid Attention.

I was born in Brazil and I came to New York for a six-month adventure that lasted 29 years so far.

I didn't have enough money to attend college full-time,

So I pursued a part-time education at Worcester Community College,

Working 40 hours a week.

I worked as a housekeeper,

Babysitter,

And dog walker for a few years and then returned to a Korean hospitality.

I went on to earn a BS and an MBA,

I got a divorce,

And raised two children as a single mom.

I believe we,

As women,

Have the strength to change our mindset.

I believe that we need to find our inner power and deliver our gifts to the world.

We need to use the tools available to us,

And everything we need is already inside of us.

Bringing your best self forward is not a luxury.

It is a necessity for women who have many responsibilities these days.

One big warning though,

As you start incorporating some of these practices in your life,

Things will change rapidly.

People will think you are on drugs because you don't react the same way you did before.

They ask you what's wrong and not believe you when you tell them you found a new peace of mind.

They will notice how younger and happier you look.

Just say thank you.

Things that bother you in the past won't trigger you anymore.

You may get job offers,

Promotions,

And attract new positive people in your life.

The same way you will attract new people,

Some of your old friends will lose touch.

That's because your energy is at a different frequency than theirs.

Those who don't match your vibration cannot come into your experience.

I advise you to just breathe and embrace the changes you'll be creating.

It's coming at the right time.

Opportunity One.

When you first wake up in the morning,

Before you open your eyes,

Find five things to be grateful for.

You can start by being grateful for your bed,

Pillows,

Bedroom,

Or anything you are truly thankful for.

Following your gratitude practice,

Begin a guided meditation or concentrate on your breathing.

This time in the morning,

Before you walk into your day,

Is an opportunity to break a difficult behavior pattern that you may want to stop.

Opportunity Two.

In your bathroom before your shower,

Look in the mirror and tell yourself how much you love and appreciate yourself.

Look into your eyes and say it out loud,

I love you.

You can also use your lipstick to write positive messages on your mirror such as surrender,

Embrace,

Or I love you.

Louise Hay,

A teacher and an author,

Has pioneered the mirror work in many of her books such as You Can Heal Your Life.

Give your best self the love and appreciation she needs.

Opportunity Three.

In your shower,

You can use the water to release any negative energy.

The shower is the fastest energy changer.

Embrace the water on your body,

And if you didn't meditate already,

Use these five minutes to do so.

Also,

You can use your eyeliner to write positive messages on your shower head or pipes.

Japanese scientist Masuro Imoto,

In his New York Times bestseller book,

The Hidden Messages in the Water,

Will tell you the science and the spirituality behind water-carrying energy.

Opportunity Four.

On your commute to work,

Find another five things to be grateful for.

It is impossible to be fully thankful and angry or mad.

If you dislike your job,

The commute,

The traffic,

Or the train,

Find 20 things to be grateful for.

You can start with something like,

I'm grateful for this traffic because I have time to practice gratitude.

Or,

I am grateful for the music I can listen to on my commute to work.

Opportunity Five.

When you arrive at work,

Find three people to wish well instead of the habitual and sincere good morning.

You can wish them well in silence,

Too.

When you are in a state of generosity,

You access your love power.

Love is the opposite of fear.

And fear creates stress hormones.

You find how helpful people can be when you practice silent generosity.

Opportunity Six.

During any conflict that may arise in your day with people,

Decision-making,

Or events,

Do a nostril breathing.

Close your left nostril with your finger and breathe in through your right nostril.

Close your right nostril and breathe out through your left nostril.

Then breathe in through your left nostril.

Then close your left nostril and breathe out through your right nostril.

I will have this available on my website.

Repeat this pattern for at least three to five minutes.

After some practice,

You won't need to use your fingers to control your breathing.

Another way to bring your best self forward during conflict is by looking for green objects in a room.

This process helps to recalibrate your brain.

When you recalibrate your brain,

You free the resources that during stress are frozen.

This way you are able to access your power and leave the state of stress.

You can also use the green technique to help calibrate other people's emotions as well.

I have done it many times at work.

Opportunity Seven.

At the end of your day,

As you settle in bed with no electronics on,

Find five things from your day to be grateful for.

This will not only help you sleep well and recalibrate the unwelcome emotions of the day,

But you will also help you have a better tomorrow.

Women are called to be happy.

When you feel well,

You are able to access your best self.

Practicing any of the seven opportunities throughout your day will allow you to have a healthier peace of mind.

I encourage you to take the time to practice at least some of them.

Bringing your best self forward is the goal here.

The best version of you is your gift to humanity.

We need your gift.

If you feel this is giving you value,

Please share with your friends on your favorite social media.
