
Gentle Awakening Meditation

During this meditation, you'll be guided into different spaces of the body (head, heart, belly, pelvis) where you will soften, relax, release, expand, and invite in a spark of gentle light to support an inner awakening. A sweet practice to do when you want to feel lighter, brighter, and more peaceful within.

Hey there friends,
Welcome to this gentle awakening meditation.
For today's practice,
You can sit comfortably.
If you prefer to lie down,
Please do so.
And then just go ahead and bring your eyes to close and begin to tune in to your breath.
As you begin to witness the flow of breath coming into your body and flowing out of your body,
You can invite your breath to slow down.
You can invite your breath to stretch out,
Extending your inhalations and exhalations just a little bit longer.
And then finding a little release through your jaw,
A little release through your shoulders,
Finding a little release through your belly,
Letting your belly move gently with your inhales and exhales.
And feeling the weight of your body surrendering towards the earth,
Grounding yourself for this practice,
Stabilizing your body,
Stabilizing your mind,
Your energy for this practice.
To cultivate a gentle awakening from within,
I'm going to be guiding you through a few different parts of your body and in each part we'll just pause,
Soften,
Open,
Allow this part of us to maybe expand and take up a bit more space and then we'll just invite a little spark of light into these different areas.
This is a really simple way to shift our energy and to create a little awakening inside of us.
So again,
Just notice your breath here,
Breathing in,
Breathing out slowly and then move your awareness up into the space right between your eyebrows,
Feeling into the center of your forehead and soften this area.
Breathing in to this area.
As you exhale,
You can imagine any stress or tension,
Any negativity releasing from this place.
And as you cultivate release through this area,
Allow the energy here that resides right behind your forehead to expand a little bit.
Let it take up as much space as it would like to take up.
Maybe you can feel this part of you breathing almost like your forehead is pulsing with the breath.
And then invite a little spark of light into this area.
It might just be a flicker.
Maybe it's like a lighthouse glowing off in the distance.
See what comes for you when you invite gentle light to flow into this area right behind your forehead.
And just take one more breath as you observe this gentle awakening happening here right between your eyebrows,
Space behind your forehead.
And then gently and slowly shift your attention down from this area into the center of your chest.
And as you pause here with your awareness,
Just like we did with the forehead,
Just begin to soften.
Just imagining any stress or tension or negativity that is hanging out in this area of your body.
Imagine it just being able to flow easily and effortlessly right out through your exhalation.
Just the breath flowing into this area.
And inviting the energy here around your heart to expand a little bit to take up a little bit more space.
And then allow a little spark of light to flicker on in this area.
Could be the smallest little speck of light,
Maybe it's white or gold or pink.
Or for you it may appear as a larger globe of light,
Just see what comes for you.
This is nothing you need to force.
You're just imagining this gentle influx,
This gentle inflow of light moving into the center of your chest.
And just feel the breath here.
And from this area,
Moving your attention down into the space right behind your navel,
To your belly center.
And as you touch into this area,
Just softening,
Beginning a release through your abdomen.
Breathing in to the center of your belly and as you breathe out,
Just imagine any negativity or stress flowing easily and effortlessly out through your exhalation.
Realizing the energy here in this part of your body and allow that energy to fill out this space of your belly.
Allow it to spread out,
To expand.
And then seeing a little spark of light land in this area,
Letting the spark of light be just dimly lit.
Maybe it's glowing brighter and brighter with each breath.
Let this light be gentle as it creates a little glow,
A little illumination through your belly.
And then lastly,
From the belly,
Allow your awareness to travel down into the deep center of your pelvis.
Breathing into this space of you and softening,
Relaxing through this area.
There's any stress here that is ready to release,
Just feel it letting go with your exhalation.
Let your essential energy that resides here begin to take up more space.
Feel it spreading out,
Expanding.
Notice your breath flowing in and out of this area.
And then allowing a little spark of light to flicker on here.
It doesn't matter if the light is dim or bright,
If the flicker is very small and subtle or large,
The light could be tinted any color.
That naturally comes when you invite this light to turn on inside of you right here at the center of your pelvis.
And then come back to your whole body.
Feel your whole body breathing in and feel your whole body breathing out.
Feeling this newfound awakened state inside of you with this gentle light expanding through your inner self.
And notice how you feel in this moment.
Connecting with your breath again,
Just inhaling slowly,
Exhaling slowly.
And if there's anything you wish to take with you from today's practice into the rest of your day,
Any quality,
Energy,
Emotion,
Acknowledge that now and allow this intention to move out in front of you into the future,
Into the rest of your day,
Guiding your path forward.
Take one last deep breath in,
Complete breath out.
