Hello and welcome to the first audio in the Kids Calm Down series.
We're going to go on a little adventure today.
But before we start going on any adventure,
We need to make sure that we're in the right frame of mind to be able to tackle any obstacles and to be able to communicate with everybody so that we can make it through the adventure.
Are you ready to begin?
Get yourself comfortable.
Lay down on your back and get rid of any riggles out of your body.
You might want to move your shoulders from side to side.
Pop a pillow under your head.
Let your feet go outwards.
Let your hands gently rest upon your belly.
And then start to close down your eyes.
Bring your lips together.
And notice how your mouth feels.
Are you noticing what your tongue is doing?
Bring your tongue to the roof of your mouth so it's sitting just behind your big top teeth.
Now start to breathe in through your nose.
Use the power of your nostrils to breathe in the biggest breath.
It's like you're filling your belly like it's a great big balloon.
And then allow that breath to move into your rib cage and make your rib cage come out like they're big wings.
And then when you can't fit in any more sips of breath,
Allow the breath to come out through your nose.
And notice at the tip of your nose how warm your breath feels.
Now I want you to try and maintain this breath at least for the next few minutes.
Now start to bring your attention to your toes.
Your toes like to do walking.
They like to do feeling in the sand,
In the dirt,
In the mud.
In the water.
And let your breath swirl down to your feet.
Let your breath become a certain colour.
Maybe you want your breath to be many colours.
Maybe it's all the colours of the rainbow.
But just choose your own favourite colour today.
Now as you breathe,
Allow your breath to come out through your nose.
And as you breathe,
Allow your breath to swirl around your feet.
And just notice how calm your feet feel.
They're very relaxed.
Now that you've put your colour around your feet,
Allow that colour to swirl up your legs.
And once the colour is swirling around your knees,
And you notice that your knees feel really relaxed.
Allow the colour to come swirling up around the tops of your legs and into your hips.
Over your bottom,
Over your belly.
Keep breathing really deeply because that's the brightest your colour will get if you can breathe really deeply.
And allow that colour to swirl around your chest.
Down each of your arms to your fingertips.
Those fingers that like to create things and write things and cut things and climb things.
Allow those hands to relax.
Allow them just to soak up the beautiful colour that you've created for them.
Now bringing the colour up around your neck and around your face and it makes you feel so,
So calm.
And you know that as you're covered in this calm,
Coloured mist,
That it's slightly making you feel nice and light.
So this great big breath,
This great big balloon is starting to lift you up off your bed.
And you're starting to float up into the sky.
And even though you're floating in the sky,
You feel completely safe.
You know that if at any time you'd like to touch the ground that you can.
So as you float up into the sky in your beautiful coloured cloud,
Your favourite animal comes to visit you.
When this is your animal messenger,
Your animal messenger will answer any question you ask it.
So if you want to ask your animal messenger something,
You ask it within your mind and listen for the answer.
You'll only hear the answer if you keep breathing.
So keep breathing into your belly so that your balloon continues to rise.
So that your mist continues to come around every single part of your body and making you feel calm and relaxed.
And you and your animal start to dream and imagine about your favourite place.
Maybe you're in amongst some trees and then some fun swings to play on,
There's some fun sand to build in.
Whatever it is that you can imagine,
Bring that into your vision right now.
And you and your animal play there safely and calmly and you feel completely happy.
And as you play and you smile,
Your whole body feels at ease.
Your whole body feels completely relaxed and it's like you're floating but your feet are on the ground.
It's like you've grown into a tree now and your feet are on the ground and your tree roots start to move deep into the earth and they're winding through.
And you notice a few insects and you notice some other tree roots and you notice some earthworms and you're going deep,
Deep,
Deep down into the earth.
All the way down until you reach the beautiful warm lava.
And the warm lava,
It doesn't burn you,
It's a beautiful red,
Orange and yellow colour.
And you invite that red,
Orange and yellow colour to come into your body and you allow it to fill you with this beautiful vitality.
You allow it to make you feel energised but completely calm.
And then when you are ready,
You start to come back up through your roots into your tree.
And you notice that your animal is ready to go home.
So you walk with your animal along the earth and you notice there are some flowers.
So you stop and you smell a flower.
And you're still covered in your beautiful,
Beautiful mist.
And allow the mist to calm you and cool you.
Allow it to relax you.
And then after you say bye to your favourite animal friend,
You find a spot on the grass in the sunshine to lay down.
You feel comfortable,
You feel relaxed and you feel supported by the earth.
And you know that you can come back to this place,
Your safe place,
Your relaxation place and your fun place with your animal whenever you wish.
So take some more deep,
Calming breaths.
And start to allow yourself to just relax into your sunny spot.
