This meditation combines a relaxing body scan, self-compassionate insight, and a mantra. I call it the “And This…” practice, which is helpful during challenging times or at any time in life. We've all experienced hard times and made it through; it takes courage and compassion. Meditating helps us ground ourselves as we notice what is happening in our bodies and minds and allow relaxation. No matter what phase of life you're in, you have experienced hard times. No one is immune to personal challenges. What is helpful in challenging moments is to go inside, notice what is there, and then apply self-compassion, accepting and nurturing whatever needs attention.
