Hi Mama,
Welcome to this postpartum meditation.
This guided session is designed to give you a moment to yourself as you navigate life with your new baby.
I know that finding time to yourself with a newborn is incredibly tough,
So as you've got this moment to yourself,
Just allow yourself to settle in,
Feeling your body fully supported by Mother Earth,
Feeling the gentle pull of gravity as you start to focus on your breath.
As you feel the breath entering and leaving the body,
Give yourself full permission to set everything else aside just for a moment,
Letting go of any tension you may be holding or tightness you may be feeling in the shoulders,
The neck,
The back and invite in a feeling of relaxation.
Just let it come over you,
Feeling it soften your entire body.
If you feel tears welling up,
That's completely normal and completely okay.
There are times I look at my beautiful,
Perfect baby girl and I just cry.
Mother Nature is incredible,
So just see if you can accept it.
Whatever comes,
Welcome this emotion and just let it flow.
You are doing an incredible job,
Mama,
Just taking it one simple step at breathing in and breathing out,
Relaxing a little more with each breath.
The postpartum period can be an overwhelming and emotional time,
Full of intense joy,
Vulnerability,
Disbelief at the sheer amount of responsibility that is parenting and a breathtaking amount of love and happiness.
You may feel lost from time to time,
Perhaps grieving your old life,
Feeling stretched to your limits emotionally,
Physically,
Financially,
Psychologically.
All of these feelings are totally normal and any time you feel overwhelmed by any of these feelings,
You can check in with your heart.
Now let's focus on our heart center.
If you like,
You can place your hands on your heart.
Let's start by feeling our heart beat inside our body,
A rhythmic energy that just beats day in,
Day out,
Without us even asking anything of it.
This heartbeat is what soothes your baby,
This incredible part of your body.
It just functions day in,
Day out.
Let's express gratitude for our heart,
Generating feelings of deep appreciation.
Feel those feelings of gratitude radiate through your entire body,
From your heart,
Into your lungs,
Into your other organs,
Deep into your cells,
Into the bloodstream,
Radiating throughout your entire body now,
As you see your body beaming with golden light,
A light of gratitude.
This golden light is now enveloping your entire body,
Wrapping you in divine love and guidance.
You've got this mama,
You're doing an incredible job.
Keep doing what you're doing and let go of unrelenting standards and expectations you are putting on yourself.
Just allow yourself to be,
In this moment,
Complete,
Divine,
Completely perfect as you are,
The mother of your baby,
Breathing in and breathing out.
Great job mama.
Now as we come to the end of this meditation,
Gently bring your awareness back to the room.
Wiggle your fingers,
Wiggle your nose,
Wiggle your toes,
And when you are ready,
Gently open your eyes.
