I hope you had the best day today.
Thank you so much for tuning in right now.
This is the story of Sadie and the Tremendous Adventure.
Now,
Before we begin,
Get yourself comfortable and cozy in your bed.
Maybe take in a deep breath through your nose like you're smelling the most beautiful flower that smells so good.
And now,
Pretend that you're blowing out some candles as you blow through your mouth like Blow out all those birthday candles.
And do that one more time.
Smell an amazing flower in through your nose.
Blow out those candles.
Good job.
So this is the story of Sadie and the Tremendous Adventure.
It begins in a faraway land,
And it was a warm summer evening.
The sun was beginning to set behind the hills,
And the sky looked like these soft ribbons of beautiful gold,
Peach,
Pink,
And lavender.
There were some fluffy clouds in the sky that floated overhead,
And looking really soft and sleepy,
That you could almost rest your head on these clouds as they floated by.
And in the grass.
We saw a really sweet French bulldog named Sadie.
Sadie had soft ears and a round little belly.
Really bright,
Curious eyes.
And a big heart.
She loved so many things.
Sadie loved snacks.
She loved naps.
She liked listening to the birds sing in the morning.
And she loved when someone scratched that perfect spot behind her ear.
But most of all,
Sadie always had this belief.
That something wonderful was about to happen.
Sadie was always positive.
Always looking for the good.
Thinking about possibility.
That was her superpower.
She hung out a lot with her best friend named Vince.
Vince was a chihuahua.
Vince always tried to act cool.
He was really,
Really tiny,
But he didn't think of himself as small.
Vince thought of himself as this really big character,
But Vince was just tiny,
Like pocket size.
Vince wasn't as positive as Sadie,
A little more realistic,
I won't say negative,
But Always trying to keep Sadie back on the ground while Sadie had these big,
Beautiful,
Audacious dreams and goals.
Sadie invents.
Always had fun together.
In one day.
They were playing with a red ball.
And they would be throwing it back and forth,
Catching it with their teeth.
But then Vince decided that Vince wanted the ball all to himself.
Sadie was playing nicely with it.
They found themselves with this ball.
Both of their teeth on the ball.
They kind of fought over it for a bit and then all of a sudden the ball flew into the air.
And they watched,
They looked up.
The ball went high in the sky.
Bounced on the ground.
And then it started to roll down a hill.
Sadie and Vince ran after it.
Sadie's little paws thumped against the ground,
And Vince's tiny legs moved so fast they almost looked blurry.
Down the hill they went.
Past a patch of purple flowers.
Past a sleepy butterfly,
Closing its wings for the night.
Past a rabbit.
Nibbling on a carrot.
Who looked up just long enough to say,
They're in a hurry somewhere.
The ball just kept rolling.
Sadie was having fun chasing the ball.
Grass tickled her paws.
The earth felt soft beneath her feet.
Everything smelled sweet and green and warm.
As they got to the bottom of the hill,
Sadie and Vince finally got their ball back.
Sadie took in a long,
Slow,
Deep breath.
And slowly exhaled.
And felt very calm.
And grateful and relaxed now that she had her ball back.
But once they got the ball.
They noticed in the distance.
A big tent.
It looked like a circus tent.
As they got closer.
They realized how enormous the tent was.
It was covered in red,
Gold,
And blue-purple stripes.
Golden lights twinkled around the entrance.
Colorful flags fluttered from the top.
The whole tent seemed to glow.
Very warm and welcoming.
Like a lantern in the middle of a field.
A large banner hung above the doorway.
The letters were painted in sparkling silver.
It's sad.
Welcome to the Tremendous Talent Show.
Sadie gasps.
Vince stared.
His tiny mouth fell open.
Then he quickly closed it and adjusted his sunglasses.
From inside the tent came a wave of applause.
The sound rose into the evening that felt like joy.
Sadie's heart fluttered.
She had never been to a tremendous talent show before.
Near the entrance,
An old sheepdog wearing a red bow tie was greeting the guests.
Welcome,
He said in a warm,
Sleepy voice.
Come in,
Little ones.
The next act is about to begin.
Sadie and Vince stepped forward.
Inside.
The tent was even more magical.
Rows of seats curved around a sparkling stage.
The ceiling rose high above them.
Draped in deep blue fabric.
To look like a night sky.
The lights were scattered across like stars.
The air smelled like popcorn and warm pretzels.
Mmm,
And cinnamon sugar.
Somewhere nearby,
A child was giggling.
Someone unwrapped a candy.
And a baby yawned.
The stage lights glowed softly.
And Sadie and Vince found a small spot near the front.
They sat down.
All of a sudden there was a hush through the tent.
A peaceful hush.
The kind that makes everyone lean in.
The kind that feels like something beautiful is about to happen.
A voice announced.
Ladies and gentlemen.
.
.
Please welcome to the stage,
Chanel.
The audience clapped.
Sadie looked up.
A young girl.
Stepped onto the stage.
She had bright,
Confident eyes and a smile that seemed to light up the whole tent.
She looked magical.
And in her hands,
She held a silver hula hoop.
Sadie and Vince watched closely.
The music began.
Soft at first,
A gentle rhythm.
And a little brighter.
Chanel lifted the hoop.
She stepped into the center of the stage.
And with one graceful movement,
The hoop began to spin around her waist.
She made it look so smooth,
So effortless.
Around and around and around the hoop went.
Sadie's eyes grew wider.
Then Chanel picked up another hoop.
And another.
And another,
Soon.
Four hoops were spinning around her.
One was on her waist.
One around her arm.
One around her wrist.
And one rolling across the stage and back again as if it were alive.
This was such an incredible talented girl.
Chanel moved as if the music lived inside her.
She twirled,
She stepped,
She spun.
The hoop circled her like planets around a little sun,
Gold,
Silver,
Blue,
Pink.
They danced through the air.
They shimmered.
They sparkled.
They floated like rings of light.
Sadie thought to herself.
Maybe I could do something like this.
Sadie was imagining herself on the stage.
With the people watching and the music playing and the lights glowing.
Maybe she could do this too.
Hmm.
Want to do that.
And said,
Yeah,
But you don't really have the body type to make a hula hoop spin like that.
How are you going to do it?
Sadie kind of frowned a little.
What does that mean?
What are you trying to say?
Well,
You're kind of shaped like a dinner roll.
Sadie looked down like,
I guess you're right but.
.
.
Sadie thought,
I still want to try.
As Chanel finished,
She took her bow.
She smiled and bowed again.
As the crowd cheered on.
The show began to move into a short break.
People began chatting quietly and Sadie stood up and immediately started walking towards the back.
Where are you going,
Said Vince.
I'm going to talk to Chanel.
Vince froze.
Absolutely not.
Why not?
Said Sadie.
You think Chanel's gonna have time to talk to you?
Sadie was already walking.
What's the worst that could happen?
Chanel was backstage,
Smiling and talking to people,
Signing some autographs.
Sadie barged through the back and went right up to Chanel.
Chanel.
Chanel looked around.
Who was,
Where'd that voice come from?
Sadie said against Chanel.
Chanel looked down and saw Sadie there.
Oh,
It's a Frenchie.
I love Frenchies,
Thought Chanel.
Hi.
Sadie said.
Can you teach me how to do that?
" Chanel said.
I can sure try.
Sadie said,
I would love that very much.
I want to be in a talent show one day.
Chanel said,
Well.
I'm sure you could be in a talent show one day.
Chanel was so nice.
She was ready to help Sadie because,
At one point in time,
Someone helped Chanel learn how to do it.
So it was her way of giving back.
So they went out around back,
And Chanel continued to teach Sadie how to hula hoop.
She placed the golden hoop gently around Sadie.
Chanel smiled.
Are you ready?
Sadie Nodded.
Ready.
Take a slow breath first,
" Chanel said.
Sadie breathed in.
Slowly,
Then breathe it out.
Chanel said.
Now we try.
She gave the hula hoop a gentle spin.
And for a tiny moment,
The hoop moved around Sadie's body.
Sadie's eyes grew wide.
Chanel smiled,
And then.
.
.
The hoop fell straight to the floor.
Okay,
Maybe try again,
Said Chanel.
Try it again,
Spin,
Clunk.
The hoop fell down every single time.
Hmm.
Now what am I gonna do?
I'm not talented.
Chanel knelt beside Sadie.
Let's pause.
Sadie sat down.
Ears drooped a little bit.
Sadie's heart felt a little heavier now.
She had imagined herself spinning hoops like Chanel.
She imagined the audience cheering.
Now the hoop was lying on the floor again and again and again.
I don't think I can do it,
" said Sadie.
Hmm,
Chanel waited.
The best kind of friend knows that sometimes you need help.
Quiet moment.
Before the next brave thought can arrive.
So Chanel just waited patiently.
Sadie took in a deep breath.
And then another.
Chanel spoke in a calm voice.
Okay Sadie.
Feel your paws on the ground.
Still.
Safe.
Feel your legs getting soft.
Feel relaxed.
Soften your stomach.
Feel your shoulders relax.
Feel your face become calm.
Now close your eyes.
And ask yourself.
What else could be possible?
What else?
Could be possible.
Sadie thought for a moment.
What else could be possible?
What else could be possible?
I saw myself as a hula hooper like Chanel,
But Wait a minute.
.
.
I have an idea.
Said Sadie.
What is that?
Said Chanel.
I'm wonderful at jumping through the hoops.
Chanel.
Her eyes lit up.
She thought this could be part of my show.
Sadie could be jumping.
Through the hoops as I'm spinning them.
I could spin them off my arm into the air.
And Sadie could jump through.
And just in that moment,
I could.
.
.
Back and get it on my arm and spin it some more.
It could be.
.
.
The next level.
So they started practicing.
It was tremendous.
It was awesome.
Unbelievable,
And they got the show perfect.
It was time to take it to the stage.
The announcer smiled on stage as all of the audience looked on.
And the announcer said,
We have a very special performance tonight.
Sadie's heart skipped backstage.
The announcer continued.
Please welcome to the stage.
Chanel,
Sadie,
DJ Vince,
And the tremendous performance.
The audience erupted into applause.
Cheers filled the tent.
Sadie's stomach flipped.
Vince became the DJ and led the lights in the show.
He was on stage in his sunglasses and his black leather vest.
Chanel smiled.
Suddenly,
It was go time.
Before anyone moved,
Chanel knelt beside Sadie and said,
Okay.
One last pause.
Vince nodded too.
The three friends closed their eyes.
Slow breath in.
One.
And a slow breath out.
For.
Feel your pause.
Feel your legs,
Feel your tummy.
Feel your shoulders Feel your face,
Everything soft.
Calm.
Safe.
The sounds around them faded.
The applause became distance.
The nervousness softened.
And underneath it all,
They found something else.
Excitement.
Readiness.
Vince said,
Prepare yourselves for greatness.
The crowd laughed.
Vince nodded proudly.
Then he pressed a button.
And the music began.
Chanel stepped onto the stage and the audience applauded.
She gracefully moved across the floor,
Spinning,
Turning,
Flowing with the music.
The lights shimmered across her costume.
The hoops glowed in her hands.
Everything felt magical.
Then Chanel lifted the first hoop.
Looked toward the stage.
Sadie took a breath,
Ran onto the stage.
One,
Two,
Three,
Jump.
Straight through.
The audience cheered.
Sadie landed perfectly,
And the hoop went right back on Chanel's wrist.
A smile gleamed across her face.
She had done it.
The first jump.
Whoosh.
More applause than another.
Jump!
Whoosh!
The cheers grew louder.
Sadie flew.
Chanel twirled.
Vince was rockin' the DJ booth.
Every jump was smoother than the last.
The audience loved it.
Children pointed,
Parents smiled.
What a great show.
This was one to remember.
Sadie smiled,
Took a deep breath in,
And knew that it was the grand finale.
The biggest golden hoop appeared,
The hoop that shimmered like sunlight,
The hoop that sparkled like treasure.
The hoop that almost seemed magical.
Chanel flung it around her wrist.
And then it went into the air.
Sadie stepped back.
One,
Two,
Three,
Looked at the hoop.
Ran forward and went right through it.
Soaring through the center of the golden hoop.
Higher and faster and farther than ever before.
She felt joy.
The performance had come to a close.
They calmly walked off stage.
And they said that was the best,
Most.
Tremendous adventure we've ever had.
I think it's time for sleep now,
" said Vince.
Sadie said,
I couldn't agree with you more.
They walked through the grass.
They found a really comfortable bed.
Underneath a tree.
And they climbed up into the bed.
The bed felt so good,
Their bodies felt safe and ready for sleep.
Felt the mattress underneath them,
Supporting them.
Their whole body felt calm.
And ready for sleep.
They felt so relaxed.
Closing their eyes.
Feeling supported and falling deeper and deeper.
And deeper.
Into sleep.
Sleeping begins.
Now.
