This meditation is to help children feel a sense of gratitude for themselves and their families and all that they have while simultaneously relaxing them to the point where they begin to settle and calm down enough to help them fall asleep. This can be done every night with every child!

Hello,

Welcome to this bedtime gratitude meditation for kids.

Get yourself comfortable in your bed,

Hands relaxed by your sides.

Close your eyes.

Take a deep breath in and let it all out.

Think about your day today.

From waking up in the morning,

Having breakfast,

Maybe you're at school,

Learning new things,

Playing outside,

Doing some new artwork.

Think about all the things you did today.

Now,

Feel grateful for this day.

Say thank you.

You can say it out loud.

Say thank you.

Now,

Another deep breath and let everything go.

Now,

Here we are at the end of our day,

Ready to rest our bodies so we can do it all again tomorrow.

Let's think about our feet and our toes.

Maybe wiggle them around a little bit.

Give thanks for your feet,

For helping you balance and walk and stand on your tiptoes.

Now,

Think about your legs.

Maybe shake them out a little bit.

Thank you,

Legs,

For running and climbing,

For dancing,

For kicking soccer balls.

Thank you,

Legs,

For all you do.

Moving on to our tummies.

Our tummies digest our food and gather all the nutrients we need for our bodies to run so well.

Thank you,

Stomach,

For keeping us healthy.

And now,

Your arms and your hands.

Your arms draw,

Grab things,

Hug people,

And so much more.

Thank you,

Arms and hands.

Your heart.

Your heart beats for you every day without taking a break.

Your heart helps you feel love.

Thank you,

Heart.

Now,

Moving up.

Your mouth and your teeth for talking,

Singing,

Chewing your food.

Your nose for smelling,

Helping you breathe.

Your ears for hearing.

Your eyes for seeing.

Your brain for thinking and learning and creating.

Wow.

Your whole body is absolutely incredible.

Thank you,

Body.

Now let's give thanks to our home.

The roof above our heads for keeping us safe and protected.

Give thanks to your family,

Your friends,

All the smiles you gave and received today,

Including this one from me.

Let's take another deep breath in and now let it all out.

Great job.

Just feel totally relaxed.

Feel peace throughout your body.

Tomorrow is a brand new day that we get to experience and work towards showing gratitude,

Love,

Kindness,

Fun,

Creativity,

Learn new things and be the best we can be.

You're an absolutely amazing person.

You are so loved.

This world is so blessed to have you in it just the way you are.

And now it's time to drift off into dreamland.

Rest our bodies and our minds.

I thank you so much for sharing this time with me.

Tomorrow is going to be a fantastic day.

Good night,

Dear one.

Good night.

Good night.

You are loved.
