Hello dear friend Welcome to this meditation to support you at a time of loss and grief I'm in the midst of a painful loss in my own life as I speak these words and I tell you this in the hope that you will know and Feel that you're not alone Of course,
I can't know your unique experience But I have felt the completely heartbreaking Gut-wrenching Shattering feelings of loss Emptiness Loneliness and Sadness that you may be experiencing right now And I feel your pain with you You might be feeling angry or depressed Or maybe you're feeling nothing at all Perhaps you feel numb and There might even be moments when you feel hopeful at ease or at peace There is no right or wrong way to feel Let yourself feel however you do right now Every feeling is welcome Valid and as it should be Even if it makes no sense to your mind You don't have to feel everything all at once Trust your system to only let in what it's ready to feel and process And Trust its intelligence to protect you from what's too painful to feel right now You don't need to figure any of this out You don't need to figure any of this out for yourself There's nothing you have to do And nothing needs to make sense right now I invite you to hand over all coping All effort All trying and All striving to get anywhere different than right here Gently put aside all the stories connected with your loss for now And Let this be a time of extra gentleness and kindness to yourself And Give yourself a break from any regrets Should haves or could haves And Anytime they return Keep letting them gently fall away Right now dear soul,
It's enough just to be here You have my full presence as we rest here quietly together Being a compassionate witness to whatever wants to be seen Heard And felt Make any adjustments that you need to now so that your body is as comfortable as possible And if it feels right for you,
Place one hand over your heart and the other over your belly And let that touch send a signal to your system that you're here for yourself That you're listening And that you're willing to stay as life unfolds Moment By moment By moment Be wide open to the world around you Be wide open to this whole moment Every sound Near Or far Wide open to every sensation Every feeling Every wave of emotion Every movement of mind But without getting involved Leaving it all alone And dropping into the very simple and completely effortless space of just being Feel where your body meets the surface beneath And just let the weight of your whole body drop into that support Body so grateful to be held And to be relieved of all worldly demands Just for now Feel where your head meets the pillow And let the weight of your head be held Notice that your body is breathing Feel the subtle sensation at the tip of your nostrils As the breath comes in And as the breath goes out Notice the parts of your body that are naturally moving as it breathes Breathe And now let your breath go just that little bit deeper into your belly than it usually does No forcing or pushing And let the exhalation go with a really long and soft sigh Breathing in just that little bit deeper Breathing out just letting it all go Inhaling low and slow Exhaling going right to the very end of your breath Deep breath in Long breath out And when you're ready let your breath be natural Not controlling it Not changing it But see if you can stay with the simple feeling of your breath Noticing the sensation in the inner passageways of your nostrils The slightly cooler air entering The slightly warmer air leaving The momentary pause between each breath Just quietly noticing body breathing all by itself Breathing all by itself Tongue resting in the mouth Hinges of the jaw loosening Lower jaw falling softly away from the upper jaw A softening of the whole face Eyes resting right back Space between eyebrows softening open Forehead smooth Cheeks releasing and letting go Back of the head Base of the skull Back of the neck Whole spine Supported Cradled Held Shoulders sinking down Arms giving up their weight Feel the sensation in the palms The whole back of the body supported A softening of the heart space Holding your heart with tender loving care A softening in and around the belly Hips releasing their weight Thighs Knees Calves Ankles Feet Releasing and letting go Whole body Whole body Whole body Softening maybe just that little bit more And now let yourself just be here And do absolutely nothing Simply resting in the compassionate healing space of just being Welcome the feeling of your body once more Feel where your body makes contact with the support beneath Feel the touch of air on the skin The sensation in the palms of hands The sound of this voice And once again let your breath go just that little bit deeper into your belly Inhaling low and slow And exhaling with a long and soft sigh Deep breath in Long breath out Inhaling And exhaling As you lie here quietly call forward a prayer for yourself What does your heart long for more than anything else?
Call forward a prayer for your loved ones And trust that your prayers have been heard What does your heart know?
Giving your heart a voice And listening to what your heart knows And now take some moments to ask for whatever help you may need at the moment Silently asking for that help Calling it forward from forces seen and unseen And trusting that that help will come And now I invite you to spend some precious moments in gratitude Acknowledging and recognising all the ways that your life is blessed Calling forward what you're grateful for Who you're grateful for And really feeling that gratitude in every cell of your body As we invite a very gentle return of mind,
Body and world Check in with your body What does your body need right now?
If your body is ready to move,
Allow that movement to happen naturally And if your body wants to continue resting Giving it space to do that if you have time From my heart to yours May you be well May you be happy And may you be at peace Thank you for joining me for this meditation
