Welcome to your second evening of release and rest,
Your touch yoga sleep journey.
Begin by settling into a comfortable position,
Allowing the lights to soften or to just fade.
Let the room grow quiet around you,
Allowing your body to just sink into stillness.
Gently closing down your eyes,
It feels so good just to close the eyes down,
Letting go of the day and to just be.
Take a slow moment to arrive in this space,
There is nothing you need to change,
Nothing to solve,
Nothing to figure out.
Just simply notice that you are here,
Just observe,
You may become aware of thoughts moving through the mind.
Just let them come,
Let them go,
Like distant sounds,
Echoes,
No need to follow them,
Just notice,
Just observe.
There is nothing to achieve,
Nothing to improve,
Just the body breathing.
Notice the natural rhythm of your breath,
There is no need to deepen it,
No need to change it,
Just witness.
Now from this gentle state of being,
Very slowly begin to rub your hands together,
Softly,
Unhurried,
Creating a gentle warmth between your palms.
Then gently place one hand on each side of your lower rib cage,
Resting the hands into the side body,
Allowing your elbows to drop,
Your arms to feel heavy and your palms warm and resting with ease.
You can feel the breath,
The subtle expansion beneath your hands as you breathe in and the soft release as you breathe out.
Just let your hands rest like gentle anchors as your awareness softens around any sensations and if thoughts drift in,
You don't need to follow them.
Just be aware of the breath,
Just notice,
Nothing to do but be.
You may begin to sense where the day still lingers,
Perhaps in the chest,
Perhaps in the belly,
Perhaps nowhere in particular.
Whatever you notice it's enough and with each exhale allow a small softening,
Not forced,
Not intentional,
Just a natural soft unwinding.
Allowing the day to loosen its hold,
Feel the ribs soften beneath your palms,
Imagining anything you have been carrying beginning to melt and dissolve.
The conversations,
The responsibilities,
Let the breath carry them out and away.
And as the chest softens,
The heart softens,
As the ribs release,
The body understands it is safe to let go.
And if there is any tightness,
Linger in,
Let your next exhale be a gentle offering,
A quiet surrender of the day.
This is your moment of release,
This is a gentle laying down of what you were never meant to carry into the night.
And if sleep comes,
Let it take you,
If you remain resting that too is enough,
But for now simply soften.
