In this guided practice, the listener is invited to notice the way in which experiences are naturally releasing and letting go of themselves, moment by moment. We imagine it is we who must apply some effort or strategy in order to let go of things. But the reality is that phenomena let go of themselves quite effortlessly and spontaneously owing to their inherently dynamic, ever-changing nature.

I invite you to relax body and mind and just settle into a comfortable position.

You can have eyes open or closed for this practice.

For the next few minutes,

Allow yourself to let go of any effort to control the flow of thoughts,

Feelings,

And sensations.

Just be as you are in this moment.

As you do this,

You may begin to notice that your experience never actually remains the same.

Thoughts,

Feelings,

And sensations are all in a constant state of flux.

Just notice this right now,

That the nature of experience is for it to vanish,

No sooner than it appears.

For these next few moments,

There's no need to hold on to any thought,

Any experience,

Or any feeling,

Since you can't really do that anyway.

Instead,

Just allow everything to disappear.

With this style of practice,

We're allowing ourselves to come into harmony and alignment with the way life actually is.

Experiences never hold still.

The reality of each moment is that it is constantly changing,

Constantly shifting,

Constantly morphing into something else.

So,

Just feel this,

The way in which experiences are naturally releasing themselves.

Because it is the nature of experience to constantly change,

See how you don't actually have to apply any effort to let things go.

Experiences let go of themselves moment by moment,

Without you having to do anything to make that happen.

So just see this,

The way in which experiences are releasing themselves,

Effortlessly and naturally.

Allow yourself to relax into this truth.

So,

Notice that it's not possible to hold on to anything in a world that is forever changing.

Thoughts,

Feelings,

Sensations,

Experiences,

Welling up and then naturally releasing themselves to make room for the next thought,

Feeling,

Sensation or experience.

Enjoy this natural letting go that's occurring in every instant.

As we bring this meditation to a close,

I invite you to experiment with this practice whenever you find yourself moved to.

Just notice the fact that whatever you're experiencing in any moment of life is quite naturally releasing to make room for the next moment of experience.

See how every instant is quite literally a fresh beginning.
