Notice how easy it is to be aware,

How this very instant you are wide awake,

Experiencing whatever you're experiencing,

Feeling whatever you're feeling,

Noticing whatever is being noticed,

And all of it happening without applying any effort whatsoever.

Just appreciate this natural presence of wakefulness,

The fact that without any doing or contriving or manipulating on your part you are here,

Awake,

Aware,

Present to each moment.

Feeling as if you have somehow lost contact with this presence of awareness?

Well,

That's just the experience you're being aware of.

You're simply being aware of having seemingly lost contact with awareness.

So you see,

Awareness need not be fabricated or contrived for its ever-present,

Without any doing or effort required to make it so.

Try right now to be unaware.

Try to make awareness disappear.

Try to turn the light switch of awareness off.

It can't be done,

Can it?

Awareness is indestructible.

As long as experiencing is happening,

Awareness is here.

It's intrinsic to experience.

Happy?

Awareness is there.

Sad?

Awareness is there.

Feeling like a million bucks?

Awareness.

Present?

Right there.

Revealing that state.

Feeling tired and confused?

You guessed it.

Awareness.

Right there.

Revealing that particular body-mind state.

So as you sit here,

Just revel in the fact that awareness is here,

Ever-present,

Revealing whatever it happens to be revealing,

Illuminating whatever it happens to be illuminating.

Awareness shines forth effortlessly,

For that is its nature,

To shine,

To radiate.

Everything,

Every experience,

Every circumstance,

Every event,

Is this shining forth,

The natural effortless radiance of awareness.

No need to conjure or cultivate it,

For awareness does itself,

Creating and sustaining itself,

Moment by moment.
