Yoga Nidra With Singing Bowls - Ahem Prema - I Am Love
Yoga Nidra is known as "yogic sleep," a state of being between sleep and consciousness that's conducive to deep relaxation. The crystal singing bowls aid this yoga Nidra as a systematic method of relaxation, inducing physical, mental, and emotional relaxation while maintaining awareness at deeper levels. This yoga Nidra explores breathwork at the level of prana maya kosha (subtle energy body) and repetition of the mantra "Ahem Prema" meaning "I am Love", welcoming love to be here now.

Namaste.
Welcome to this yoga nidra experience.
This yoga nidra is traditional in the sense that you are meant to stay alert and awake while the body experiences a deep state of rest.
This yoga nidra will bring you into a light,
Altered state of consciousness where you will experience deep relaxation and rejuvenation.
A meditative state to holistically unwind the nervous system.
At the end of this yoga nidra,
You will hear the words Hari Om Tat Sat,
At which point you will come out wide awake with a clear mind and full of vital energy.
Laying down in Shavasana on the back of the body on a comfortable surface with a pillow behind the head for support,
A blanket over the body,
Legs extended with the feet hip distance apart.
Arms extended alongside the body,
Palms facing up,
Fingers relaxed,
Closing down the eyes,
Relaxing the jaw.
Sensing the room around you,
Recalling where you are,
Sensing the walls.
Visualize the ceiling,
The floor,
Items within the room,
Your body laying on the support beneath you.
Adjusting the body until you are completely at ease and comfortable.
Making sure you are able to stay completely still for the remainder of the practice with no physical discomfort.
And notice if you could get the body 5% more comfortable now.
Say to yourself,
I am aware that I am going to practice yoga nidra,
Focusing on the act of listening and feeling.
Surrendering the whole body to the earth,
Relaxing the mind from the world of thinking and analyzing and opening to the world of sensing,
Feeling.
Listening,
Emptying of tension,
Filling with awareness and sensation.
Awake and aware,
Listening to the sound of my voice.
In yoga nidra,
We practice sankalpa,
Which is like an intention or a deep resolve,
A heart's desire.
You can think of intention or sankalpa like a seed that you are planting in the subconscious mind to grow and blossom effortlessly into your life.
A clear,
Simple,
Positive resolve reflecting a cherished wish for your life,
Such as I respond to each circumstance in my life with trust and certainty.
Mentally repeating your sankalpa with feeling and awareness three times now.
Welcoming and affirming your sankalpa with your entire body and mind,
Allowing this sankalpa to be everywhere all at once,
Throughout the entire field of vibration that is the body.
Welcoming sound and hearing and how you can pick up on all the layers of sound in the distance,
Nearby.
Listening not only with your ears,
But the entire body,
Moving attention from sound to sound without trying to identify the source.
Feeling the whole skin of the body,
Sensitive,
Receptive,
Imagining that you could breathe into the skin,
Inviting the surface of the skin to become more porous.
Sensing the touch of air on the skin,
Places of warmth,
Places of coolness,
Places where the body meets the earth.
Begin to notice the whole body laying on the earth or the surface beneath the body,
Sensing the contact between the body and the earth,
And the space between the body and the earth,
The whole length of the body.
Where the body meets the earth,
The weight of the back of the head on the earth,
All the way down to the heels,
Heels heavy on the floor,
The whole length of the back of the body against the earth.
Now,
Sensing neither the body nor the earth,
But the space between the body and the earth,
The space that exists in between the body and the earth.
Relaxing the mouth,
Sensing the space between the tongue and the roof of the mouth.
The inside of the mouth,
The space between the tongue and the roof of the mouth.
Awareness back to the body and the earth,
The space between the body and the earth.
Sensing the eyes and the space behind the eyes,
Relaxing into the tissues behind the eyes.
Awareness back to the back of the body,
Sensing the space between the body and the earth,
The whole length of the body,
The earth beneath the body,
The space in between.
Now,
Sensing the space between the tongue and the roof of the mouth.
Back to sensing the body and the earth,
The space between the body and the earth,
Behind the eyes,
Body and the earth.
Mouth,
Body and the earth,
Eyes,
Body and the earth,
Between the body and the earth,
The whole body.
From head to feet.
Continuing to rotate attention throughout the body,
Sensing the right thumb,
First finger,
Second finger,
Third pinky finger,
Palm of the hand,
Back of the hand.
Hand,
Wrist,
Forearm,
Elbow,
Upper arm,
Shoulder,
Shoulder blade,
Rib cage,
Waist,
Right hip.
Thigh,
Knee,
Calf,
Ankle,
Heel,
Sole,
Top of the foot,
Big toe,
Second toe,
Third toe.
Fourth,
Pinky toe,
The whole right side,
The whole right side,
The whole right side.
Awareness migrating to the left hand thumb,
First finger,
Second,
Third,
Fourth,
Palm,
Back of the hand,
Wrist,
Forearm.
Shoulder,
Elbow,
Upper arm,
Shoulder,
Shoulder blade,
Rib cage,
Waist,
Hip,
Lower leg,
Knee,
Calf.
Ankle,
Heel,
Sole,
Left big toe,
Second toe,
Third,
Fourth,
Pinky toe.
The whole left side,
The whole left side,
The whole left side.
The back of the skull,
Back of the neck,
The right shoulder blade,
The left shoulder blade,
The thoracic spine,
The back of the ribs,
The low back,
The sacrum,
The tailbone.
The back of the thighs,
The back of the knees,
The calves,
The heels,
The whole back of the body,
The whole back of the body,
The whole back of the body.
The crown of the head,
The whole forehead,
The mind's eye,
The brows,
The eyes,
The bridge of the nose,
The cheekbones,
The upper lip,
The lower lip.
The front of the throat,
The sternum,
The navel center,
The low belly,
The pubic bone,
The front of the thighs,
The front of the knees,
The shins.
The tops of the feet,
All ten toes,
The whole front of the body,
The whole front of the body,
The whole front of the body.
And now,
Feel the whole body from within.
The whole body,
The entire body filled with awareness.
The light of awareness fills the whole body now.
The whole body,
The whole body resting in stillness.
Sensing the stillness of the whole body.
Becoming fully aware of the stillness,
The calmness of the body.
Completely still as you rest upon the earth.
And now,
Sensing the subtle movement of the body,
The aliveness,
The breath,
The circulation.
The already happening rhythm of breath.
Nothing to do.
It's already happening,
Aliveness and movement of the body.
Awareness to the sensation of air moving in,
Air moving out.
Natural flow of the breath moving in the body.
The spontaneous breath within the body now.
Sensing the whole ocean of air around the nostrils.
Following the breath from the tip of the nostrils,
Inside the nose,
The throat,
The lungs.
Sensing the air inside the lungs,
The throat,
The nose,
The tip of the nostrils.
Sensing any difference you may notice from the inhalation to the exhalation.
And the flow of air inside the nose.
Perhaps coolness on the inhalation.
Perhaps a sense of warmth or humidity on the exhalation.
A subtle difference in the quality of air inside the nose from inhalation to exhalation.
As you follow the rhythm in and out,
Bringing awareness to the right nostril.
Imagine inhaling through just the right nostril.
At the top of the inhale,
Imagining switching sides.
And the exhalation moves through the left side nostril.
Inhaling through the left nostril.
Imagining switching sides.
Exhaling at the right side nostril.
Inhaling right,
Switching sides.
Exhaling.
Inhaling,
Switching sides.
Following the natural rhythm of breath.
Each inhalation,
Switching sides.
Exhaling.
Inhaling,
Switching sides.
Exhaling.
Inhaling,
Switching sides.
Awareness gently flowing from side to side.
With a spontaneous flow of breath.
Exhaling.
Inhaling,
Switching sides.
Adding in with each breath a mantra,
Aham Prema.
With each breath repeating the mantra,
Aham Prema.
The Sanskrit words translate to I am Love.
Inhaling,
Aham.
Exhaling,
Prema.
Continuing side to side.
Exhaling,
Inhaling,
Switching sides.
Constant awareness of the mental breathing in alternate nostrils as you mentally whisper the mantra,
Aham Prema.
Aham Prema.
Aham Prema.
Exhaling,
Inhaling,
Switching sides.
Coming back to the mantra.
Each breath reciting Aham Prema.
Exhaling,
Inhaling,
Switching sides.
Aham Prema.
Releasing the mantra.
Releasing awareness of breath.
Welcoming an inner resource now.
An inner sanctuary.
A place you can go in your mind at any time.
A safe and peaceful place that you would like to be.
A place that you have been or a place that you can imagine.
A place for relaxation anywhere in the world.
A sanctuary that you can rest and be completely safe and at ease.
It can be indoors or out in nature.
See yourself there.
What does it look like?
What do you see?
What are the sounds?
Imagining the sounds.
Listening.
Receptive.
What are the aromas?
What fragrances are present here?
Is there warmth or a cool breeze?
Feel the sensations.
What are the textures around you?
Is it dark and cozy?
Is it luminous and bright?
What are the colors around you?
Notice how light behaves in your inner resource.
Allow yourself to soften and relax into the experience of your own inner resource of peace.
And see yourself there in a deep,
Peaceful meditation.
Where the mind loves to dissolve.
Imagining now a red rose.
A fragrance of a red rose.
A lush green forest.
A flickering candle.
A turquoise beach.
Waves upon a shore.
A white water lily.
A luminous full moon reflecting off a calm lake.
A radiant sunset.
A shooting star.
The northern lights dancing in the sky.
The northern lights dancing across the sky.
See the colors dancing across the sky.
And once again,
Repeating your Sen Kauppa three times.
Welcoming and affirming your Sen Kauppa with your entire body and mind.
Allowing the Sen Kauppa to be everywhere.
All at once.
Basking in the energy of your Sen Kauppa here.
The practice of Yoga Nidra is now over.
Feel the body on the earth.
Listen to the surroundings.
Notice the listening.
Begin to move the body gently.
Toes.
Fingers.
Notting the head from side to side.
Stretching the whole body here.
Ready to meet the rest of your day with energy and clarity now.
Hari Om Tat Sat.
