Hey there.
Welcome to my video.
My name is Alex and this exercise is a routine that I like to incorporate into my morning every day.
It is alternate nostril breathing.
You've probably heard of it.
And I do it because I find it to be a fantastic way,
Again,
To balance myself and to just give me this sense of calm as I step into a new day.
Alternate nostril breathing has been proven time and again to be an extremely effective way to activate the parasympathetic nervous system and alleviate stress.
So I'm going to show you how I do it and then you can follow along.
And if it helps,
Then you can keep coming back to this video and using this exercise whenever you need to.
As we begin,
Find yourself seated in a comfortable position.
Okay,
If your nose is blocked,
Then that might be a little tricky,
But see if you can anyway.
Otherwise,
You can save this video and do it at another time when your nose is not blocked.
Now,
As we begin,
We're going to find ourselves seated upright and begin by blocking your right nostril.
And let's breathe into our left nostril.
Now block your left nostril and breathe out of your right nostril.
Into your right nostril.
Block your right.
Breathe out of your left.
Into your left.
Block your left.
Breathe out of your right.
Into your right.
Block your right.
Breathe out of your left.
Into your left.
Block your left.
Breathe out of your right.
Into your right.
Block your right.
Breathe out of your left.
And now we're going to breathe three times in and out of your left.
So go out,
In.
Now block your left and do the same with the right nostril.
So in.
And let's take a deep breath in through our nose.
Slowly breathe out.
Notice how your body feels in this moment.
Notice if there's any energy running through your body.
If there's any tension that you may be experiencing.
And see if you can relax your forehead,
Relax your jaw,
Relax your shoulders,
And relax your arms,
Relax your belly,
And both your legs.
Just ensure your whole body is now relaxed.
As you welcome in a new chapter for your day.
I hope this exercise helped even if it's a little bit.
It's not the most complex exercise that I've taught but it's a fantastic way if you're short on time to just incorporate this throughout your day.
Even on a quick little work break or if you have a few spare moments.
And that can just keep you going throughout the day or just get your day started off on the right foot.
So thank you so much for being here and I'll see you in the next video.
Much love.
