Good evening.
Thanks for doing this exercise to end your day on a much needed positive note.
Going to sleep feeling grateful about the little things is paramount in helping us recognize the good that happened today and feel excited about tomorrow.
Gratitude helps us view the world differently and respond to things with a more positive mindset and level head.
How you feel before going to sleep can have a profound impact on the following day.
Even one minute of seeing the good in your life can have an incredible effect on your well-being and future.
So,
Let's begin.
First,
I'd like you to take a deep breath in through your nose,
As deep as you can.
Slowly,
When you're ready,
Exhale.
Let out all that tension.
Just notice how you feel today.
Explore any bodily sensations,
Any emotions,
And just relax your muscles.
First,
I'd like you to take a deep breath in through your nose.
Slowly,
When you're ready,
Exhale.
Let out more tension.
When you've fully exhaled,
In your own time,
There's no rush.
I'd like you to think of something specific about tomorrow that you're looking forward to with a sense of gratitude.
Why are you looking forward to this thing tomorrow?
I'll give you about 10 seconds.
Have a think.
Again,
The why is very important.
Again,
Take a deep breath in through your nose.
Slowly exhale.
Relax the muscles.
When you fully exhale,
I would like you to think of something about your body that you are grateful for.
Why are you grateful for this?
Again,
When you're ready,
Take another deep breath in.
Slowly exhale.
Now,
I'd like you to think of something that is currently in this space that you're in,
For which you feel grateful.
Why are you grateful for this one thing?
Well done.
Again,
Take a deep breath in when you're ready.
Slowly exhale.
When you fully exhaled,
Think of someone,
A person who is currently in your life for whom you are grateful.
Why are you grateful for this person?
Again,
Remember the why is super important.
When you're ready,
May take one more deep breath in and let's exhale slowly.
Slowly let out the final bit of tension.
Lastly,
I'd like you to think of something you've learned today,
A lesson or a piece of information for which you are grateful.
And why?
Why are you grateful for having learned this?
When you've eventually thought of this thing,
I'd like to wish you an amazing rest of the night,
A fulfilling evening,
A deep and happy sleep.
And may you wake up feeling better than you ever have.
Good night.
