Hey there my fellow over thinker.
It's fine.
In today's world of information overload,
It's easy to fall for the trap of overthinking.
And sometimes it can inhibit you from taking charge of your day.
This is why I have designed this meditation for you.
For those tough days where you find yourself constantly dealing with unruly thoughts.
Let's begin this meditation as we tame your monkey mind and clear your head so you can successfully seize the day.
Begin by finding yourself seated in a comfortable position.
Take a deep breath in and slowly when you're ready,
Breathe out.
Gently close your eyes,
Close your eyes,
Relax your muscles as you exhale.
And now when you fully exhale,
Just let your thoughts flow.
Notice the first thought that comes to your mind.
Accept that this time,
I want you to examine the thought objectively as a bystander without getting too involved.
Just take a note of the thought without any judgment or pressure.
Notice what happens to the thought.
Now when you're ready,
I'd like you to label the thought.
Just add a mental bookmark acknowledging that you have attended to this thought.
Now when you're ready,
Gently guide your attention back to your breath,
Allowing your breath to settle into its natural rhythm and examine your breath as it flows in and out of your body.
I'll give you a few seconds to focus on that.
By now those thoughts may be seeping back in.
Regardless,
Just pay attention to the first thought that comes to your mind.
Again,
Examine the thought and observe it without any judgment for yourself.
These thoughts do not define you and you are not your thoughts.
Merely observe the thought as a bystander.
Take your time and don't rush.
When you're ready,
Label the thought and gently go back to witnessing the natural rhythm of your breath.
Notice the air flowing in and out of your nostrils and the raw sensations that accompany those movements.
As you focus on your breath,
You may notice your mind may start wandering again.
That's okay.
It's perfectly normal for that to happen.
When that happens,
Again,
Simply observe the thought without getting involved.
You're just witnessing the thought objectively like you're a third party judge,
Analyzing it without getting involved.
Then when you're ready,
Take a mental note of the thought and gently guide your attention back to your breath.
Notice your chest expand and contract as you breathe in and out.
Nice and slow,
Feeling the breath.
There is so much power in not getting involved in your thoughts.
When you eventually do learn to detach from the thoughts and observe them objectively,
You can go from being the passenger with no control to the driver navigating the direction you would like to go in.
Take a deep breath in through your nose as deep as you can.
And when you're ready,
Slowly exhale in your own time and at your own pace.
When you fully exhaled,
You may open your eyes and welcome back your physical surroundings.
I'd like to wholeheartedly thank you for entrusting me with this meditation.
I hope that it helps mitigate the overthinking and I now hope that you have a peaceful and productive day or night.
Namaste.
