We're going to go on a journey tonight.
We're going to go to an old guest house which used to be a farm so it's going to be very clean,
Comfortable,
Shabby chic and very very welcoming.
So I hope you're ready for your overnight stay.
All you need to do is just get comfortable,
Get under the covers,
Ready to sleep and follow me.
Imagine a warm summer evening.
It's a peaceful evening in the countryside.
You are walking down a country lane.
The trees around you are green.
And the fields all around are also green.
You can smell that green smell.
You can smell the grass.
You can smell the bark of the trees.
You can smell wildflowers in the air.
And the earthy dusty smell of the warm road.
And you can hear birds chirping,
Calling,
Getting ready for the evening.
Take a nice look around you.
See what else you can see.
There might be farm animals in the fields.
And if you're lucky,
Maybe some wild animals too,
Like a couple of shy deer glancing at you and running away into the trees.
And in the distance now,
You start seeing the outline of what looks to be an old farmhouse.
This is your destination.
It's now been turned into a guest house.
So walk down the driveway.
And have a look around you.
There are still some wooden outbuildings,
Barns,
Stables,
Sheds.
And a few horses just behind the fence.
A couple of them are curious,
Looking at you.
And then going back to graze with the other ones.
Have a look at the farmhouse.
It's simple stone facade.
And how clean and tidy it is.
Close to the front door,
There's a bench.
So why not sit down just for a few minutes,
And enjoy the sunset.
That's right,
Just sit down,
Have a rest,
Enjoy the colours in the sky.
Enjoy the clear air as it's getting cooler on your skin.
As the chirping of the birds is fading,
And the crickets are starting.
See how pretty those little clouds are.
And how pretty those little clouds are up in the sky.
All glowing,
Cold and pink.
There is just so much peace.
So just allow yourself to drink it in,
Soak it up.
Give in to the peace.
And as if to welcome you,
A friendly dog is slowly walking towards you,
Wagging his tail,
Hoping for some cuddles.
Or maybe a chubby cat peering for you,
Rubbing against your legs.
So why not get in now,
Open the door and find your room.
That's right,
You can get in and just notice how clean it is,
How comfortable,
Simple and welcoming.
Sit on the bed and feel how soft it is.
Oh you are going to sleep really well tonight.
So put your pyjamas on.
And if you want,
You could leave the windows slightly open just to feel that fresh air on your skin,
And smell the smells of the evening in the country.
So get under the covers now.
Feel the cool air on your skin.
Smell how gorgeous the sheets smell.
Freshly washed,
Crisp and clean against your skin,
Your hands,
Your feet,
Your face.
And you can hear the crickets outside the window,
Just like a lullaby,
Just for you.
You can just relax into all this peace,
This complete and heavenly tranquillity all around you.
And feel how your body is starting to relax.
Feel just how heavy your feet are,
How comfortable under the blankets,
Resting on their soft mattress.
You walked a lot today,
So they really do deserve this rest.
Just let them relax.
And then allow this comfortable heaviness to spread up into your ankles and your calves.
Feeling so comfy,
Feeling so relaxed.
And up into your knees and your thighs.
And just allow your muscles to get loose,
Heavy,
Very very comfortably heavy.
That's it.
And just like a wave of relaxation,
This comfort is spreading up into your hips and into your lower back and your belly.
Loosening up all of the muscles,
Loosening up any tension,
Any stress,
Making you feel at peace.
Just allowing you to feel as serene as the evening outside your window.
And just let that relaxation now spread up into your upper back and your chest.
Loosening,
Lengthening,
Spreading peace,
Quiet,
Tranquillity,
Relaxation all throughout your body.
And just notice how calm your breathing is now.
How slow it has become.
As that relaxation is going into your shoulders and down into your arms,
All the way down into your hands and into your fingers.
And up into your neck,
Face,
Your head.
Until the whole of your body is completely relaxed.
Feeling so comfortable,
So at ease,
So at peace with the world.
Just letting any tension drain down as if it was sand in an hourglass,
Sliding down smoothly into your bed,
Into the earth,
Leaving your body ever so naturally.
Just let it go.
That's it.
Just let it go.
You can also imagine that any thoughts which are left inside your head,
Inside your mind,
Are just flying out of your head.
As if they were little birds looking for someone nice and comfy to pooch for the night.
Just let them fly away.
You don't need them right now.
They can come back in the morning,
But for now,
It's time for them to sleep too.
And as your breathing is becoming more and more peaceful,
Slower and slower,
Softer and gentler,
You can just think of the word deep as you breathe in and the word peace as you breathe out.
Deep peace.
Deep peace.
That's it.
Rest deeply in this deep peace.
Have a wonderful,
Refreshing sleep.
Night night.
Good night.
Good night.
